Weight gain!!! My ex-husband suffered from this.Replied by Carrington (Colorado Springs, Colorado) on 02/01/2010
Yes I will have to agree that weight gain could be a huge portion of why someone would have sleep apnea. But there are different kinds. Personally I suffered from Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). I use to have to sleep with a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine. I use to have around 256 episodes a night of "sleep" this went on for roughly 2 years before I seeked help for it. Wife was tired of thinking the worse when she looked over at me in the middle of the night. Change your diet for the better and get out there and excersise. I know it is hard for alot of schedules but somehow you have to fit this in. As said before I can only speak for OSA, there are other kinds out there. Good luck all!Replied by Elfie (Los Angeles, Ca) on 02/01/2010
Elfie here again...Thanks for your reply. I'm F/67, no weight problem, generally good health and habits. Diagnosed w/ Hashimoto hypothyroiditis (without any symptoms) 5 years ago, taking Armour Thyroid 90mg.
My APNEA is a mystery. Anyone any thoughts?

sleep apnea is a serious sleeping disorder due usually to weight gain but not always you should have it checked out as sometimes it can be fatal i test people for sleep apnea and you need to have a sleep study done you will spend the night at a lab and be monitored for the severity of it and then you need equipment ordered to sleep with other alternatives are tounsils removed adnoids removed others are tongue scrapings not recommended as it is painful to most any ways good luck
