Hi Marsh57...Andy Cutler promotes the low dose use of certain chelators for his protocols. My protocol uses Selenium and ALA, both of which are strong chelators of mercury. If you take these in tablet or capsule form with water and swallow them quickly, then these chelators, taken in this way, should not effect the fillings in your teeth.
It also depends on how many fillings you have in your teeth. Another approach, if you are wary of taking ALA is to dissolve the ALA tablet in half a glass of mineral water and use a straw. You can avoid the ALA chelating the mercury tooth flings using this method. Just suck the water up through the straw to the back of your throat(thus avoiding the teeth and the fillings) and swallow it like that.
Having mercury fillings in my own teeth(I only have 3 mercury fillings) also never stopped me from taking lugol's iodine, selenium, ALA, chlorella, cilantro extract etc(all mercury chelators) to help cure my own candida issues 12 years ago. I still take most of these chelators now on a daily basis in reduced dosages. So I guess you must really decide for yourself which is worse -- a serious systemic candida problem that you've had for some time or possible mercury poisoning from your fillings caused by selenium, ALA etc. Unfortunately, if you don't get rid of the heavy metals in your body -- including mercury -- then you will have a particularly tough time getting rid of the candida. Candida hides in biofilms that are actually created by the yeast using mercury as well as other heavy metals. And when you remove the biofilms with my protocol, I also recommend taking chlorella. Chlorella removes the heavy metals safely from the intestines because no resorption of heavy metals back into the occurs when you use chlorella. Kelp is also very similar to Chlorella in this respect.
