BV, Yeast and Pregnancy

Posted By Debby (LA) on 03/16/2025

Hello, I have recently been struggling with BV and yeast infections for about a year now. I go to my OBGNY and they just keep prescribing me the same antibiotics which temporarily clears the BV then I have to take the anti-fungal to clear the yeast infection. Which I strongly believe makes the BV come back.

I am also 18 weeks pregnant, which makes resolving these symptoms even harder. I am a married 34 yr old, I eat a very healthy low sugar diet, do not smoke or drink, I do take prebiotic and prenatal pill every day. I use only sensitive fragrance free personal products and wear cotton underwear. I don't know what is causing the PH imbalance but I am in hell. Please help me with working remedies that are safe to use during pregnancy!

Debby: I have had very good results getting rid of yeast infections via garlic and yogurt. It never fails.

Either or. A spoonful of live-culture yogurt inserted once a day. Or poke a few holes in a garlic clove and push in (can add a thread for pulling out, though I never have, it comes out by itself in a couple of days). In a stubborn situation like yours I would alternate this treatment for a couple of weeks.

You may be getting reinfected by your husband, he should self-treat also, or get a prescription. Best of luck!
