Burning Mouth Syndrome and Anxiety

Posted By Kaley (Chico, CA) on 01/25/2022

Has anyone with Burning Mouth Syndrome been diagnosed with M.S.? I had an MRI and year ago and came back normal. My mother had MS and I’m terribly worried that this is a sign for me. I’ve been getting BMS for the past month and am waiting for blood work for routine labs. I do have health anxiety and hope this is just another sign of anxiety issues that I need to address. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Kaley

Yes Kaley, pls address your anxiety. My grandmother had arthritis, so when I "felt" my knees while going down steps, I got slightly frantic! But then a wise person said to me: just because your grandmother had it, doesn't mean you will get it! And that was the end of that!

Btw, I took gelatin for a time, and now I can run up and down the stairs with nary a thought.

I think magnesium can help with bms. If you get tested for mag ask for the test in your cells not serum. It is called RBC MAGNESIUM TEST, not to be confused with the regular rbc blood test. Or you can take magnesium to bowel level & back down if you get diarrhea. We all have different burn rates, stress etc & our soils aren't what they used to be. Dr Carolyn Dean is a mag specialist. Hope this helps.

Hello,

Just wanted to say that my burning mouth was caused by my toothpaste which was a whitening toothpaste. It caused my gums, teeth, and tongue, and entire mouth to burn. It lasted a month. I started eliminating this gs and when I stopped the toothpaste, the burning stopped. The peroxide whitener was the problem.
