Need Help for Mother With Burning in Feet

Posted By Amy (Alexandria, Louisiana) on 10/18/2021

My mother (69 yrs. old, 160 lbs., no other health issues) has a severe burning sensation in her feet, especially at night, she is diabetic and only takes metformin and watches her diet. This keeps her sugar in check but her feet still have the burning. It's been going on for about 3 years. Any advice will help. Thank you all so much!

Definitely give alpha lipoic acid a try. Lots of info on the web regarding this. I use startpage.com search engine to find info that doesn't show up on google.

I would also definitely give the homeopathic remedy Hypericum a try too. It works remarkably well to soothe the burning nerve pains. Joette Calabrese is a wealth of info for homeopathic remedies. You can google her name and the issue for more info.

Magnesium calms nerves and since most people are deficient, I would take 400 mg twice daily if it were me. I like taking magnesium chloride and buy it in bulk on Amazon. I've seen people reverse diabetes using a chromium supplement, along with vanadium (vanadyl sulfate). I take chromium more often than vanadium, but if I were diabetic I'd take both on a regular basis until I saw improvement.

Thank you, Madelyn. I have been looking this up on the internet for a while and have had the hardest time finding anything at all. We will definitely be giving these a try. She has the hardest time sleeping due to the burning.

I have Erythromelalgia, it causes severe burning, especially in the feet, but other places, also. Some have success with taking aspirin every day, but if it has just started in the last 3 years, it may or may not work. Being diabetic, she should ask about aspirin intake, before trying. I'd look the condition up and see if it applies. My feet also turn red when they burn, which is also part of it. Eliminating spicy foods is also recommended. Hope this helps in some way.
