Brother with cirrhosis and hep c

Posted By Karen (Tulsa, Ok) on 05/02/2014

My brother who lives in NY currently was diagnosed with cirrhosis. He also has hep C, which he's known about for about 20 years. His prognosis is very grim, the Dr's do not hold much hope. I've read Tumeric and Milk Thistle are known liver healers. I myself take Tumeric daily, and Milk Thistle in a liver detox caplet every so often. My question is how much Tumeric and Milk Thistle should my brother be taking to heal his very damaged liver? Is there anything else he can take? The Dr's are not prescribing anything at the moment. TIA

Karen,

Have your brother drink 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt in a glass of water 2x a day...Have him Use BHT as Oscar recommends on this site...Cirossis is reversable regardless of what dr's say...It's like looking at a dry brown lawn that looks dead...With water it comes back...Also have him use selenium 400-800 mgs a day of plant based spinich or broccoli. Eat Brazil nuts as they are 100gs each as well, 3-6 a day...It will restore his liver back to normal... This formula will work...If he gets loose bowels, cut back to 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt...

Thank you for your reply. So my brother can use BHT for Hep C @ 350 mg, 2x a day AND follow the stated protocol (salt water and selenium) for the cirrhosis, at the same time?

Should he take the turmeric and milk thistle at the same time also or not? TIA

To Karen from Tulsa, I am Oscar and in my opinion: BHT works best without other supplements. A standard multivitamin and mineral supplement taken no more than once a day is optional. Also, start out with no more than 250mg of BHT per day for the first week. If no adverse effects are experienced you or he can try taking a second 250mg of BHT per day. That is a total of 500mg of BHT per day and should be taken at separate times. In the morning and at night is what works well for many people. People with damaged livers need to avoid taking more than 250mg of BHT at any one time.

Also: Do NOT take milk thistle or any other supplements for best results. For example: vitamin B12 supplements WILL degrade the BHT treatment and so will milk thistle.

And BHT works best if taken with a gulp of water only on an empty stomach. The BHT treatment works if you keep it simple. Some amazing results have been reported in this forum and others....Oscar

I would keep it simple and just stay with the protocol I presented. Oscar also says that Milk thistle and other supplements may interfere with the BHT...IF your immediate goal is to get rid of his chirossis..the selenium, sea salt and BHT are your best bet...Then go back to your Dr.in 2 months and have a new test...If you can get one have a fibroscan test for your liver...It's non invasive and much more accurate...It's legal in Europe but you have to find a teaching hospital to get one in this country as it's not legal here...Thay make too much money on liver biopsies...Fibroscan is the best and takes about one minute...

Hi Karen....Since your brother's Hep C and Cirrhosis are so advanced, here is another suggestion or alternative that you might like to consider for your brother's treatment.

Dr Burt Berkson has been treating and curing Cirrhosis, Hepatitis C, MS, Pancreatic Cancer and Liver Cancer with his protocol, which mainly consists of Low Dose Naltrexone(LDN), Alpha Lipoic Acid(ALA) and Selenium together with vitamin, mineral support and diet. The initial treatment, usually for only two weeks at his clinic, is ALA by IV therapy with B Vitamin injections. After the two weeks you must follow the LDN, ALA, Selenium, Milk Thistle and other protocols orally on a daily basis at home. His treatment is not expensive. And you won't have to pay hospital bed costs -- because his treatment is so simple, he recommends that you stay in a comfortable but fairly cheap hotel near his clinic. Dr Berkson is therefore not a doctor who wants ridiculous amounts of money for his simple IV treatment and recommendations.

Dr Berksons clinic is in La Cruces NM, which is only a 12 hour drive or short flight from Tulsa where you live. His website and contact details are shown here:

Finally, here is an EC post from Dan's Sister on the success of Dr Berkson's treatment on her own brother who also had end-stage Hep C with Cirrhosis -- the doctors had also given up on him -- and he was waiting for a liver transplant:

"10/13/2012: Dan's Sister from Playa Vista, Ca: "My Brother was diagnosed with Hep C and Stage IV Cirrhosis. He contracted HepC when he was 18 from blood transfusions from a motorcycle accident. 40 years later he became quite ill even had an esophogeal bleed which almost killed him. Drs at Kaiser said to go home and wait until he qualified for a liver transplant. Nothing they could do for him since he had the bleed out. We searched the internet and found Dr. Burt Berkson in Las Cruces NM.

We went there for 2 weeks, he was so ill he couldn't even roll his own suitcase to the hotel. After 1 week of treatment, he could go up stairs again, he didn't feel like he had the flu, could walk around and could sleep again. When he finished the treatments after two weeks, we flew back to Los Angeles, my husband picked us up at the airport and couldn't believe his eyes when he saw my brother. Dr. Berkson treats many auto immune diseases. We saw miracles in the 2 weeks we were there with several other people. This treatment is not expensive and works. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't experience it with my brother. Our friend is now being treated for his MS and having amazing results as well. Dr. Berkson uses ALA, Silymarin, Selenium IV's with a B complex injection. He also uses a low dose Naltrexone at night. Dan's MRI after treatment showed diminishing of the lesion on his liver and all of his lab work is moving in the right direction. The Dr at Kaiser asked what he was doing, because he was surprised at how his lab work turned out. We never told him because we thought he would be offended or try to convince us not to go back in 6 months for a "top up".

Berkson looks at your lab work (you can fax it) and tells you if he thinks he can help you or not free of charge. People were there from all over the world telling us about their success with this treatment."
