I have seen some recent stories of people with MS and some other neurological problems making gains with Magnesium-L-Threonate, a form of magnesium that crosses the blood brain barrier. Maybe this could be helpful for your Mother but I would check with her doctor first to make sure there are no drug interactions first. Best wishes.Replied by Bess (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) on 05/29/2012
Hi Biggi - You may want to look into CoQ10 (ubiquinol form) for your Mom. Do a search for "ubiquinol brain health" and read about how effective it is. Astaxanthin is another good one to have - it's a powerful antioxidant. Make sure your Mom does not have any fluoride in her water, toothpaste, etc. And keep her well hydrated with quality water. I would even try coconut oil - start small - maybe a teaspoon a day and work up to 2 (or more) tablespoons. Take with food to avoid stomach upset. Do an Internet search for "coconut oil brain health" for more information. It may even give your Mom more energy - but make sure you start with a small dose and work your way up gradually. Best of luck to you and your Mom. Take care, BessReplied by Penny (Hygiene, Colorado, usa) on 07/02/2012
