Blood Sugar Low at Night and High in Morning, What Remedies Can Help?

Posted By Melissa (Lafayette, Louisiana) on 07/31/2016

Hi everyone!! I'm a 31yr old type 1 diabetic and. Have been researching and trying herbal supplements and a whole diet overhaul. I have got myself down to 10-15 units of insulin a day from almost 50units. I find myself stuck at this point and I'd love some advice on how to help control my sugars while I'm sleeping. I'll go to bed with my sugar 80-120and wake up 6hrs later to 200s. And this to me is frustrating because I don't know what will help those morning sugars. I use cinnamon, miatake mushrooms, milk thistle, and grape seed is a new addition. I eat six small "meals" mainly nuts, veggies, fish/chicken and red meat twice a week. I limit my carb intake to 11-15 carbs for snacks. I'm excited to try your suggestion. Any suggestions on my morning sugars??

Namaste! Excited to hear from you.

I've heard that some use cornstarch to keep the blood sugar regular at night, it lasts until your next meal in the morning.

You are getting to much fat in your diet. Fat clogs up your cells so that you can't absorb carbs efficiently. Stay away from the chicken, fish, red meat, nuts and all oils.

Before you go to bed, drink at least 3 to 4 glasses of water. You'll notice that your blood sugar in the morning will be normal.
