Blackstrap Molasses Alternatives for Menstrual Cramps?

Posted By Krystine (Denver, Co) on 09/25/2016

Hi, I have severe menstrual cramps. And the only relief I've ever found is taking a spoonful of blackstrap molasses daily. However, every time I get blood work done my iron levels are too high. Finally my doctor tested me for hemochromatosis and it turns out I have it. So now I obviously need to stop taking in iron on purpose which means no more sweet relief from cramps using molasses. What are some other alternatives? I thought about buying supplements of the vitamins and minerals found in molasses but there's so many that would be much too expensive.
