Big red patches on both legs

Posted By Auriol (Queensland, Australia) on 03/28/2014

I have big red patches on both legs, totally unrelated to any injury or explainable reason yet the doctor calls it cellulitis. I have found your site and would love some insights as to what to do. Sometimes very hot with swelling. Right worse than left. Skin tends to be dry and occasionally itchy. I'm stumped as to how and why as there has not been injury or anything to trigger such a reaction. Cheers, Auriol

I developed a red itchy patch on my left shin which appeared from nowhere and looked like cellulitis. It was only the size of a 20 cent piece but was spreading slowly. A friend told me to apply some raw pawpaw (papaya). I had some in the fridge so I peeled a small amount of skin and rubbed the flesh side on the rash. I repeated that for a couple of days and it healed beautifully. I had relief after the first application.

Also, a couple of years ago, my husband had a massive reaction to taking chlorella for heavy metal detox. It is a sloppy detoxer, we have found out since, and dumps the toxic material into the bloodstream so quickly that the body often has major problems disposing of it. After taking only 1/2 tsp a day, in the second week, up from 1/4 tsp the first week, he broke out in a rash on both ankles. He stopped the chlorella immediately but the rash developed uncontrollably, moving up and all around his legs. It then formed into blisters which wept continually and major swelling took place.

The doctor couldn't tell us what it was but a friend, who is into alternative treatment, had the same thing years ago and he said hot baths would fix it. He said you have to draw those toxins out.

From further research, I now know it was a major case of cellulitis.

My husband had hot baths every day with 1 cup of Epsom salts dissolved first in a jug of hot water. He lay in it for 20 minutes, so the majority of his body was being detoxified at the same time. Foot baths would have drawn more lymphatic fluid to his legs and would have exacerbated the problem as the swelling was so great, the skin looked like it was ready to split.

These baths not only helped stop the itching but drew the inflammation OUT! In fact, after several months, I had never seen his ankles so thin!!! It took quite a while to bring it under control, but with each bath it got better and better. You just need dedication and he had it!!

The magnesium in Epsom salts is amazing for drawing out toxins if used with hot water. Warm water will cause the magnesium to be absorbed.

I hope this helps!
