Battling pain and using peppermint for rough rigid skin

Posted By No Perscriptions Drugs For Me (US) on 09/12/2014

I have been battling back pain and have great success with DMSO and peppermint and various other things (see other posts) But this time I have developed a scaley skin problem on the lower back and the skin is painfully dry and brittle.

And this is the first time I have had this and I don't know it is a reaction to DMSO or to Peppermint or even to a home made detergent I have been using.

I am going to quit the detergent because that is the new thing I have started using.

The Peppermint is new to me too, but I am not having the scaley skin anywhere else except my back.

If anyone has any ideas on this issue I would like to hear them.

Dear No Prescription Drugs for Me,

I have used Peppermint Essential oil straight on the skin very often over the years and it has never cause this problem for me. I don't have a lot of experience with DMSO.

What % DMSO are you using? I think you are not supposed to use more than 70% on the skin.

You could try Castor Oil with the DMSO. It is wonderful for the skin and is also good for pain.

You would think a home made detergent would be better on the skin, but you are wise to eliminate it to see if that is the problem.

Hope that you resolve this soon.

To "No prescription drugs for me" -----when I first got to know about DMSO on EC I visited the pages with information on DMSO particularly Dr. Jacob's website.

so I learned that DMSO has to be diluted because of its unique action on skin, particularly upper body. It is upon the user to inform themselves before going gung hei and being confronted with effects after its usage. The best info is only as good as ones own research and confirmation as to its use.

Namaste, Om

Thank you for your response to me. I have read and understood DMSO- The Persecuted Drug by Pat Mcgrady and I have read and understood Nature's Healer by Walker.

There is something else going on here because I have used DMSO for many years and have never had this kind of response to it and it is only on my back where the scaley skin is appearing. Like a brown scaley skin issue.

The difference might be the Carbopol that is used as a gelling agent because I am using more of the gel for this bout of pain in the back.

But I don't know yet for sure. I have started with the coconut oil application to relieve the discomfort of the dry skin.

Thank you all for the responses.

@Mama to Many: I have peppermint oil. I was putting coconut oil on the skin. Perhaps a drop of the peppermint oil into the coconut oil would help.

This morning I did not require DMSO to move out of bed this morning. Praise God I can move without the pain this morning. I hope this bout is over.

Could this skin issue be a detoxification reaction?

To Mama to Many,

I have been using essential oil of peppermint with a dash of coconut oil and putting it on the strange skin on my back and it is pealing off and beginning to look normal again!

I was using ninety (90) percent gel of the DMSO.

I had never had that response before but thankfully the pain has subsided to the point I don't need the DMSO gel to move out of bed. It was a wonderful remedy to make the pain go away though. So the side affect on the skin, if in fact it was the DMSO, is an acceptable side affect. Perhaps next time I will dilute it to seventy (70) percent.

I sprayed my back with hydrogen peroxide to see if any of the skin was broken and bubbled, and I did not see any foaming action. So what ever the situation was back there it was not breaching the skin to expose any blood.

Thank you all for thoughts and contributions for this event I just experienced.

Praise the LORD.

Dear No Prescription Drugs for Me,

So glad to know you are improving and what you are doing to help that skin! Thanks for reporting back. Also happy to hear that DMSO has helped so much. I am new to it but trying it a little here and there.

To Mama to Many, Thank you for you kind words and good wishes.

I have something very important to say. I have been sojourning now in a town at a man's house who is a bee keeper.

I learned that there is a thing called Apitherapy that is bee sting therapy.

I looked into it a bit and then did it. I iced the area that hurt and then applied a bee to the area where she stung me.

That night I had no pain and at 2 am I jumped out of bed and totally had no pain.

It did come back in the morning, so I did two more stings on my hip where the pain is and I got up today with much much less pain and did not require DMSO to move out of bed! I am so excited about this new non pharma-witchcraft solution to pain.

I have gathered some videos that I have seen to learn about this and put them here .

I hope this helps someone. Research it to make sure it is the right thing for you but I am really getting relief that I have not experienced before from pain.

From No prescription drugs for me:

I lost my codes and passwords and everything when this laptop hard drive quit.

I am amazed at what that bee sting therapy did for my pain in the back. The pain is gone. This is better than DMSO, Better than cayenne extract.

So far since I did that bee sting therapy, I have had no need for any other options as of today.
