I was diagnosed with aplastic anemia in 2011. The cause could not be established but I suspect hep b vaccination which I had not long before the illness. I was treated with horse atg serum in late 2012 since then I haven't had blood transfusion even though I used to take 2 units blood every 3 weeks. my bloods are very fine hb over 13 platelets over 200000 white cells about 5 neutrophils over 2. However pnh has also been diagnosed over three years now. It's not severe so I go for biannual review. I am not on any treatment just observation. My other problem is I have gastric problems and sometimes it can present as if I'm having a heart attack. I've taken omeprozol, nexium, Zantac at various times but they have not helped me. This has been with me since my teens even, it's only recently I'm getting to know what really it is. I'm now in my mid 50s. Various times doctors have diagnosed ulcer and ibs and tried to treat with drugs I've mentioned above.
