AS Prostatitis HLA-B27connection

My boyfriend had chronic prostatitis for 2 years and I found out that both of his sisters have severe arthritis, one of them has Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). My father has AS but not as severe as my partner's sister and I am aware that there was a systemic cause. So I researched prostatitis and AS. Will you look at that. They share a genetic marker.

My question is: can prostatitis recur and to possibly prevent/treat that, would we go on a strict IBS starch free diet? Also, in canada, many people with arthritis are finding relief through a product named recovery. Should we treat any inflammation as arthritic? Thanks
