Are There Alternatives to Ear Tubes?

Posted By Josie (San Antonio, Tx) on 04/14/2016

I have some ear aches and my doctor says I may have fluid behind my ear drums. He wants to put tubes to drain the fluid. Are there other alternatives?

A few drops of Alcohol (preferably 80 proof Vodka than otc rubbing or isopropyl alcohol) for a few minutes then lower that ear toward the ground and massage and tap to help clear the water and use cotton swabs to dry. The ear-ache or pain is very likely infection from the stagnate fluid. If you have good insurance it would be great to get the proper medical procedure so to avoid hearing loss; if not try the alcohol method and for extra strength against the infection add a drop of Eucalyptus to a small container of the alcohol.

OTC Triple Antibiotic Ointment ( Double Strength) on the ear may penetrate to the infection.
