Aloe Vera Juice Causes Coughing Fits- Why?

My Dad has IPF although not confirmed via Biopsy so one Doctor said IPF from CT another says something call Bakers Lung as my father was exposed to flour for most of his career. I have tried to get him on the Aloe vera therapy and NAC, we have notice however that whenever he takes the Aloe Vera juice he has coughing fits, Any ideas what this could be? is this normal?

Also is there something to take in place of Hyaluronic Acid as he suffers from high blood pressure and it seems the can increase the BP.
