Almost bled to death from ulcerative colitis

I have almost bled to death twice with bloody stools. I am now on Remicade every 8 weeks. Now, I am worried about its side effects even though it put me into remission, and eliminated steroids. I am going to ask my GI doctor about maybe getting Remicade intermittently only when I have a serious flare. What can you prescribe for me that I can share with my doctor as an option to relying only on Remicade?

Many people have had great success using LDN (low dose naltrexone), an immune modulator with no side effects. It has been shown to be effective in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as many other autoimmune diseases. please see the website at www.ldninfo.org. It explains the way it works and gives studies that support these statements. Yahoo also has a LDN group that you can join with over 10,000 members who are very willing to answer your questions and give you their personal experience with LDN. I will say that Remicade seems to be a drug that is generally not recommeded by the group from what I have read. Good luck!
