7 months ago I had blood clots in both legs n emergency surgery to remove them. I'm now on 5 mg coumadin. over the past 7 mths. I've had spells of a deep bone chilling coldness, where I'm so cold I just shake. It lasts from 1-3 hrs and I just can't get warm. The bed even shakes, I'm so cold. What can be the cause n remedy? The drs dont seem to know.

Hi, my husband had a blood clot 9 yrs. Ago (dvt), he was fine until last month. He got another one in the other leg. He is 55, thin, swims 2 miles everyday, walks 2 miles everyday etc. Why would it take another 9 yrs. To get another clot? He's had many blood test except looking into the genes. What detail blood tests w/you recommend? Also, would you ever recommend being on something natural like Natto Kinase over Coumadine? I truly appreciate your time! Sandie

The recurrent blod clot issue may be related to another issue such as Protein C Deficiency or Factor 5 Deficiency. My blood was tested at 57 years old when I found out I have Protein C Deficiency, which is hereditary and unknown in any other family members.
