Questions About Treating 7 Year Old With Apple Cider Vinegar for Chalazion

Posted By Kay (Honolulu, Hi) on 12/04/2015

Hello there my son has his first chalazion and it has been 9 days so far. Dr says hot compress as long and as much ad possible. Doc said put uncooked rice n a sock and microwave 20 or 30 seconds, then put on eye. This works so much better than washcloth.

I have also been reading about Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and have been soaking a washcloth with ACV and water overnight while my son sleeps. Just started this last night, and no guck has come out yet. Can you put ACV directly in the eye? I am so scared about the surgery option that almost never works for anyone. Does the ACV with the mother need to be mixed with hot water or is room temp water okay. I alternate the ACV then hot compress.

Hi, I started using the Apple Cider Vinegar on my eye and it immediately started oozing out after a few hours especially when I sleep. I put it directly on the inside of the eyelid, it works better that way. It might sting a little. Sometimes it doesn't.
