Hi Aya, I also have Seb Derm, but it appears on my forehead. The main trigger is dairy, so try avoiding dairy and see if that helps. Cheese is the worst! Goat milk doesn't aggravate it so I have learned to love it! I also take omega 3 fish oil, Vitamin D and Vitamin E daily.Replied by Judy (Calgary Alberta Canada) on 11/24/2013
Hi Aya: Try covering your scalp in castor oil. Leave it on for a full day. You may want to put a shower cap on to keep it from mucking anything else up. Wash the oil out and then use a vinigar rinse. 10% vinigar to water should be good. any vinigar will do but apple cider vinigar is best.
The concept is that salp problems are most often caused by a fungus. The castor oil smothers the fungus the vinigar rinse helps to balance the skins ph. The ative ingredients in Nizoral kill the fungfus but perhaps not all of it. Try this and see if it helps. Also try getting a new pillow once you have, to avoid re-introducing the fungus. Some suppliments that help healthy tissue growth is vitamin C and D. It is now being recomended by the medical establishment that we take in 1000 to 4000IU of vitamin D a day. Espeially those who live in northern geographical areas or who constantly block out the suns rays with sunscreen, need higher doses.
Hope this helps.
Judy
