Hi, My name is shivani. I am 32 years old. I have hypo-thyroid for the last 12years. I started off with Eltroxin 50mcg. Then I did not follow up with my doctor. That was my mistake. In 2009 I shifted to Thyronorm 75mcg after consulting my doctor. Then in April 2011 the doctor asked me to further increase my dosage to 88mcg after looking at my TSH levels. In July 2011 I started losing a lot of weight my homeopath told me to het my free t3, free t4, tsh and anti globulin checked. My free t3 was 2.73, my free t4 was 1.75 , tsh was 2.43, tpo was 2.31 and thyroglobulin antibody (atg) was 59.62. My ESR was 16. This was on 27th july 2011. My homeopath said I have Hashimoto's Thyroidism. As I was showing signs of weight loss and my reports. So he asked me to reduce my dosage to back to thyronorm 75mcg. I consulted another endocrinologist he said I dont have hashimoto's and I should continue with thyronorm 88mcg.

I reduced my dosage to 75mcg. I have been experiencing hair loss. I have been having eye trouble. Dryness in my left eye. So I went to an opthamologist. He said to get my thyroid checked. On 27th August I got my thyroid checked again , my total t3 is 64.30, my total t4 is 7.20 and my tsh is 3.57. The opthamologist said the count has increased a lot considering I have reduced my dosage for only a month.

Please help. I want to cure my Hashimoto's Thyroidism.

Shivani - Go to the iThyroid website for all the information you need for Hashimoto's disease. It is wonderful, truly the answer to our prayers.

I went to ithyroid.com and it has no documents or information on thyroid and weight. Not only does their weight control experiment link not work, "weight" in their site search box produced no results. Suspicious! Can you recommend a link that provides effective natural (non-prescription) ways to treat weight through thyroid correction?

If you're trying to lose weight, you could try making a "tea" with honey and cinnamon (I read Ceylon cinnamon and natural honey are the better choices here). One tsp. honey in a cup of warm water. Add a couple of dashes of cinnamon. NEVER take diet pills with thyroid disease. It is TOXIC.
