Perhaps this will help. I was diognosed with Inersticial Cystitis even though I did not have severe symptoms. Since then, I have found which foods agrivate my bladder (you can go on line and find the foods to avoid, mainly anything acidic and sugar) and for me, also gluten intolerance. I have found that anytime I get into gluten, the symptoms surface. It is amazing how much trouble gluten can cause. Keep in mind that one does not need to have all symptoms of any one health problem to have the problem. Each person is different. If she decides to try getting off of acidic foods and others foods, give it a month or so before adding one at a time back to see which ones are the culprit, if any. It would a a free thing to try and if she gets better without drugs, all the better. I also take MSM because it has rid me of inflamation, which is what IC is, a cronically inflamed bladder. I wish you success.Replied by Gavin (Manganui, Northland, New Zealand) on 10/24/2012
It sounds like a weak pelvic floor muscle, usually a vaginal cone inserted is a two week cure. But check with your urinary specialist.Replied by Lisa (Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa) on 10/24/2012
Hi Absa, Well, two things come to mind since the western drs don't seem to find anything out of the ordinary. First, have you ever heard of kegel exercises? They will tell you to do them after you have a baby to tone up the vaginal muscles. The way you do them is to feel as if you have to pee and you squeeze to stop the urine from coming out. You have to do a series of them and continue to build the amount to strengthen the muscles.
The second idea is to get to a Traditional Chinese medicine Dr. because most likely the kidney chi is weak. They can treat her and you would see results for sure! They can use both acupuncture and herbs. Hope this info helps. Lisa

Magnesium oil does wonders for this. I used to have this too, and now I don't even have to wear panti-liners. Just get some good magnesium oil and soak your feet in it for half hour every other day, and you should be much better. hope this helps.Replied by Ed2010 (Oakville, Canada) on 10/25/2012
Again, Milk Kefir does excellent job for Urinary and Bowel Incontinence. It is great for Elders who suffer incontinence.
Just drink 1 cup of home made milk kefir a day. It is the serotonin and the probiotics that does the job well. Kefir supports proper passage of signals around the region to contract and expand when required. And the probiotics eliminates any kind of infection.
It should be home made milk kefir, if not other products are ok too. You can see nice improvement in 1 week. thanks

I should mention, kefir has very little amount of alcohol. As you are from Kuwait, I thought to mention. But take this as a medicine. You are good. thanks

Found out that she has urge incontinence.... Currently on antimuscranincs and spasmodics... Not of much help.. She is also taking cranberry tablets. Is there any home remedy that might seem to be effective? thank youReplied by Sherry (Grand Rapids, Mi. Usa) on 01/05/2013
bladder urge incontinence can be treated with MSM. But you need to get the msm that is plant based and not petrolium based. You need the good stuff that works and not the junk on the market. Jacob labratories out of Oregon has the good stuff!!!! The crystals are great. 2 teaspoons daily should do the trick in juice. 1 tea in the morning and another at night. MSM does take a bit of time to work. It takes time for enough of it to accumulate in your body before it will "do the job continually" I. E. for pain of any kind, but especially for artheritis there is nothing better. It has to do with how much sulpher you have in your body already with how soon it will work. For some it works right away and for others it takes a few months or several months, but when it kicks in, your pain is gone!!! Just keep taking it to keep the levels up after it "kicks in" and your good as gold. :)Replied by Om (Hope, Bc Canada) on 01/06/2013
Yes, there is a remedy which costs nothing and works considering though everyone has different needs. It is called hydrotherapy. COLD water in a bucket. Sit in it just to cover private parts for two minutes. Repeat two to three times per day. It has helped me as it seems to tone the urinary tract. It is also good for regular elimination. However I stopped doing it and the problem returned. I think one has to repeat this intermittendly. Warm water is for cleansing, cold water for toning. I hope it is of help. You can try taking a cup of brown rice with every meal 3 times a day--works for me
