21 month old son with pneumonia

My 21 month old son was just diagnosed with pneumonia. He was prescribed Amoxicillan and Azithromycin. I am not comfortable giving my son antibiotics but don't want the pneumonia to worsen. What natural methods are recommended for young children? Or are the negatives of antibiotics worth it in this case?

Hi Tadbit, In this situation, I think you have to weigh the odds. Use the antibiotics and get rid of it. Then, as soon as you do, get good probiotics back into him. Bio-K is a powerful probiotic drink available in health food stores (I know for sure in Whole Foods) which you can give him. Try fermented veggies or coconut kefir to restore the good bacteria as soon as possible. And then work for preventative healthcare always. That's how I raised all my kids. And I've only had to use antibiotics once with one of my young babies very long ago. Wishing you the best, Lisa
