Hi
Thank you so much for this article. My father suffers from arthritis and I wanted to start him on Borax. He is also diabetic, type 2 on pill supplements, not insulin injections. The diabetes has caused shooting pain in his legs. So overall my dad is really in pain. He is 87 and does love his pharmaceuticals, so is on lots of medicine but is open to trying the borax. I saw on a previous post you asked if the patient had diabetes, is better not to try Borax if they diabetic.
Thank you so much, just so few people to consult with.

Hi Mix,
For the shooting leg pain, Melatonin Lotion (ML) has helped with this type of diabetic peripheral neuropathy pain as well as many other types of pain and here is a description of how to make it at home and what it has shown benefit for:
https://www.earthclinic.com/supplements/melatonin-lotion.html
As far as using boron compounds in diabetics, you may find this very interesting :
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11229952/
This next article discusses how melatonin can be beneficial for diabetes as well as diabetes related neuropathic pain :
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0929664625004565?via=ihub
Here are two very relevant quotes from the above link :
' Melatonin is a neurohormone which is mainly released by the pineal gland and demonstrates neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant potentials. Reports indicate the role of melatonin in the modulation of insulin sensitivity and secretion thereby regulating glucose metabolism. Melatonin has also been shown to reduce neuropathic pain by influencing neurodegeneration, inflammation and oxidative stress. '
' Considering the multidimensional potential of melatonin and its safety, it can be used as a tool to develop therapeutic interventions for the management of DM and DNP. '
It is worth noting here that melatonin lotion (ML) ultimately does go systemic once applied to the skin, so you can see that it can be beneficial for more than just topical pain relief. ML allows relatively high local tissue levels of melatonin to be reached right where it is needed for pain, but then ultimately enters the blood.
Good luck with your father and keep us posted on his progress!

Mix: Diabetes 2 is caused by insulin resistance and glucose overload. That's what damages the nerves. If your dad is willing, he can knock out the diabetes meds in a few weeks doing intermittent fasting. And it will help with the neuropathies too, even though more slowly. Finding a doc who can help with that would be the first thing I would do. Many practice long distance, over the internet. A Dr Fung is particularly well known for this, but there are many others.
Borax can help with arthritis, but if you want to focus on the destructive neuropathies, ending sugar overload is the way to go.

Vera, thank you so much I will definitely suggest this to my dad, his eating habits are terrible and he is stubborn about it but I am going to try again!

Hi Art
Wow I started the Borax protocol with my dad and he found it effective for his arthritis immediately, after the first dosage. I was quite surprised! He is not pain free yet so he is still taking a teaspoon 3x a day but his arthritis has dramatically improved and no pain in the morning, which was the most debilitating. He still has the neuropathy pain in his legs so will now try the Melatonin recipe you suggested. I have started taking borax for menopause, I have noticed small improvements, do have some hot flushes but less and feel some improvement with foggy brain, I assume that I should give it some more time, it has been 2 weeks.
Thanks again

Hi Mix,
Yes, borax can be pretty amazing, but my doctor's look at me like I am crazy when I tell them I am using a laundry booster to control my psoriatic arthritis!
First day results are really fast! Dr Rex Newnham who founded the use of boron and borax for arthritis said that it could take up to 3 or 4 months to reach maximum benefit in long standing arthritis.
Walter Last's remedy was not strong enough for my arthritis nor was Dr. Rex Newnham's remedy, but Ted's remedy worked perfectly and has kept me in remission for over 17 years now, but my PA was severe. I consider that borax was a gift from God because it came at a time when my PA had reached an intolerable level of pain throughout my body. I guess it was good for me to experience that level of pain so I could have a better understanding of what other people go through, but it sure was harsh at the time and I would definitely never want to experience it again!
Yes, borax can not show its full benefit in just two weeks and especially at lower dosing levels. I think part of the reason that Ted chose higher dosing levels is because he was looking for a faster response so people would stick with the regimen and get the benefit.
The boron in borax is very useful for osteoporosis also.
