Salt is the stuff of life.
There are some people who get too much; but in my case and many others, we get too little. I undersalted for years, and had terrible time of trying to rehydrate. Adding salt changed that pattern.
I am encouraged how many people are getting into fasting. Great stuff. :-)

Replying to my own post as an update to my situation. in addition to diet and fasting I have been consuming a lot of citrus especially oranges. They have a higher glucose to fructose ratio than other fruits and I believe this helps with cellular energy due to decreased liver function where glucose production may be hindered. This may be a controversial theory, but there is a study to back up this claim on oranges and NAFLD:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39339791/ I have also been using MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) as a study at pubmed suggests that MSM ameliorates hepatic steatosis by enhancing the autophagy. Read the full study at:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38099147/ I also only use dextrose aka glucose for my sweetener if I consume anything sweet. its important to reduce fructose consumption as much as possible, but glucose is actually made by the liver and all cells in your body use glucose. However glucose / dextrose should also be used with caution as it may cause insulin spikes which = inflammation. I was able to drink a few beers yesterday without feeling ill for the first time in years. If I had to take a guess it was more the MSM than the citrus consumption. For more on MSM look up Dr. GI Janel on social media or youtube.
