Decay is the most common precursor and cause of this pain. When a tooth is hollow, it may be stopped: A few drops of any of the following may be applied on a small roll of lint- Creosote, chloroform, laudanum, spirits of camphor, oil of thyme, or cajeput, cinnamon, cloves, or rosemary.
