Infection/Inflammation Remedy - Tooth Extraction - antibiotic resistance, MTHFR

Hello,

Yesterday, after a tooth extraction, my dentist (who does use biologic methods) said that if I don't use antibiotics my body could reject the bone graft (there was some bone loss), and she was concerned about reinfection. But I have antibiotic resistance and MTHFR and can't risk effecting my microbiome and liver.

The bone graft, mixed with PRP, is covered by a delicate membrane w/suture and I need to be very careful for five days.

In the past, turmeric caps and black cumin seed oil didn't do anything for pain. (Maybe the dose wasn't high enough, or it could be due to absorption issues).

Since I haven't found any clean enough supplements, or wasn't sure it could be applied to my specific needs, I was thinking I could make my own remedy with any of the following; garlic and/or essential oils -- oregano, clove, lemon, frankincense, peppermint, lavender, but I need to know how many drops (in a cap with coconut oil) and how often. How would I use garlic in the upper jaw post-surgery without disturbing the graft/membrane? I'm not even supposed to swish the salt water, just turn my head side to side.

I appreciate your attention to detail in helping me find the best remedy.

I sprayed colloidal silver several times a day on my last extraction and it healed quickly! Hope you feel better soon!

Hi,

I had the same procedure with PRP and have MTHFR and gut issues. Antibiotics also no longer work for me. When I had the procedure done, I did nothing and yes, then had an infection. Because it was a week after, I used turpentine and dropped it on the tooth 4 times a day for at least 4 - 6 days until it was healed. I was in a lot of pain, and it was very red and running blood. So I was sure it was infected. I don't even know if the sutures were there, I just did it because it was so bad and I knew turpentine would work.

If I have another implant, I will take something for sure. The easy thing to do is take colloidal silver. I would take 4 tablespoons a day. Since I can't take that anymore, I would take oregano oil and black seed oil. You can take 4 caps a day of your mixture for 3 days, the 3 caps for 4 days. You can also take Black seed oil a couple of times a day, but watch for upset stomach or GERD symptoms. If you aren't better you can continue maybe with something like Gaia herbs (oregano and black seed oils) which are emulsified and easier on the stomach. I wouldn't use garlic on the area as it burns, just take it internally, but with all the oils, it might bother your stomach.

After the initial 5 days, you could do turpentine, a tsp on the area 4-6 times a day. Black tea bags or tumeric tea bags (watch tumeric as it can be hot, but works so well) help to heal and lessen pain after the sutures are gone.

I forgot to mention how many drops. A book I have mentions 5 drops of oregano oil, 3 times a day for 2 weeks. I have done that, but don't know about the other oils. I have also taken 12 drops of "On Guard" oil, 6 drops oregano oil, and 2 drops of Frankincense, 4 times for 3 days, the 3 times for 4 days.

Hi Lisa,

It might also be useful to let xylitol mints dissolve in your mouth regularly as it will starve detrimental bacteria above and below the gumline for extended periods of time, which can be additive/complementary to the other great suggestions you have gotten to help control detrimental bacteria in the area of the extraction. If the candy also has peppermint, that will add to the effects of the xylitol. The xylitol also has antibiofilm effects which will also be useful in keeping bacteria from getting a foothold.

Please come back and let us know how you do during this healing process!
