"I have had up to 8 rescues-at-a-time here at my shelter, where there are always 1 or 2 facing health challenges when they first come in. I can handle all the minor stuff easily since dogs' bodies are meant to heal themselves under optimal conditions. Prevention is the name of the game! I have found great results with the dogs maintaining their health by giving them this every other day:
1/4 tsp Turpentine, 1/2 tsp Minced Garlic, 1 tbsp Coconut Oil.
I have a clear deep spoon that I use and dose them all at once before our morning walk. Then I wipe them all down with organic Apple Cider Vinegar on a sponge. This is for hot spots from Mange (that many come in with), which works very quickly, but its also for bad odors, general cleaning and beautiful coats! The every other day wipedowns prevent hot spots from recurring. I have been doing this for 10 months and I mostly just have to treat minor injuries now and then, and not raging cases of mange or mites anymore. Ticks and fleas have gone way down too. After a few weeks here the dogs become rather bouncy and happy, and it's like walking Tiggers from Winnie the Pooh because they've never felt so good.
Parasite Protocol Day is only given every other day. If a dog is bad-off when it gets here, I do every day for a week, and then they're on the same schedule with the others.
In fact, for all the dogs here I have only seen the Vet once in the last year(last week) and that was for a broken leg. I realized once we got there that it had been a long time since I'd needed him. The health of all my dogs has been really good and I credit our Parasite Protocol for this! Just wanted to share.
PS - I wanted to add that I have tried Baking Soda for alkalizing water, lime/lemon juice in their water, minute amounts of ACV in their water and none of these ever worked as they would not drink. This is my best option and it's cheap with fantastic results.
