If it's more of a long hair cat, trim the fur around the chin area. You don't want long fur here. Brew a small glass half full with your tea bag. Pour in a small cap of colloidal copper. The brew should still be good and hot, but not scalding when you start your procedure. Make sure your hands are washed and clean. Sit on the couch and lay your cat on its back on your knees, head furthest away. They submit easier in this position. If your cat is wild get them in a cat burrito blanket for the treatment and then laying on your knees. WARM COMPRESS. Fold your tissue in quarters and dip a corner in the hot liquid. Lay it on the chin and hold it there to get all the pores to open and all the acne crusties to soften and loosen. Do this a few times over a couple minutes. Take your flea comb and run it carefully through the short fur on the chin, taking as many crusties as you can. It helps to do a "sawing" motion as you run it through the cats fur, and tilt the comb as you go - so the crusties hit the tip of the comb first. Once you've got the area 'crusty free', take your Neosporin and dose the chin, then use a qtip to spread and "get it in there". Little circles. Don't be shy with the sporin. Do this at least once a day, and for the first week twice a day would be good so you get a running start. Change your food and water bowls to glass and NEVER use plastic. Don't even use ceramic, it has fine fissures and can attract bacteria and dirt. I'm just going to throw in a couple of other tips while I'm at it as my 21 year old tabby just had blood work done and the vet said she's got the damn blood of a 1 year old. If you feed kibble stay away from crap like Royal Canin and Purina and Fancy Feast. Look for brands that have "organ" meats for high nutrition. Try to stay away from seed oils like canola and sunflower etc. Same with wet food. Examine ingredients always. I use Nulo, Wellness and some other ones. (Earth Clinic, if you need to change the paragraph because I "named names", feel free)."

"Feline acne: Simpler to treat with 3% peroxide and iodine tincture. No hair trimming necessary. Just clean the fur with the peroxide, and dab iodine on the sores with a fingertip. Works like a charm. And fast. And best of all, the kitty does not mind."
