Borax for Yeast in Dog

Posted By Kristen (Florida ) on 07/26/2025

"Hi, you mentioned in the article about using a borax and 1% hydrogen peroxide solution applied topically for yeast. What is the amount of borax to add and how much water; is there an exact recipe for this different than the formula used for mange that you spray on? Also to clarify, we’re talking about borax not boric acid. I have a Westie, 17lbs"

"I just fill a large bowel with warm water, pour in a handful of borax, 3 capsules of boric acid, and a squirt of hydrogen peroxide, and place my 10 lb. doxie in the tub. Using no soap, I just wash her off with the shower head hose and then soak her in the warm water mixture from the bowel. I then place her on a towel and carry her to the living room and let her shake it out. I do not dry her. She gets in her bed with just cleaned bedding and cuddles under the blanket until dry. This has gotten rid of her flakey, itchy, scabby skin. I do this twice a week."
