Olive Leaf Extract Helps Tooth Pain

A year ago I had all four wisdom teeth removed, plus another tooth. They didn't want to remove the 6th because they felt like removing 6 teeth at once would put too much stress on my body. So, for the past year I've had a broken tooth that's partially dead. Last week it started hurting, and the gumline was pretty red along the lower left side of my mouth. The pain got incredibly intense and would not go away over the course of a few days.

I started taking Olive Leaf Extract (250mg/day) for the first two days. By the third, I ramped it up to 500mg/day, and by the 4th or 5th day, 1,000mg/day in two doses (one in the AM, one in the evening). Once I started doing 500mg per day, I noticed the pain had begun to subside. At 1,000mg/day, it subsided even more.

It's important to note that I also took Bromelain w/ the Olive Leaf Extract to (potentially) help breakdown and absorb the OLE into my bloodstream more efficiently + rinsed my mouth with Oregano Oil (the liquid version with carvacrol).

I'm not entirely sure if it's the Olive Leaf Extract, the Oregano Oil liquid mouth rinse, or both, but one way or another my gums look a 100% better than they have in a long time, and the pain has subsided to being barely noticeable.

I'm still headed to the dentist (today, actually) because I haven't been to one since last years wisdom tooth surgery and need to go regardless of tooth pain or not.

The teabag remedy is a sure thing.. I too tried it and it worked. It's amazing!! Had this tooth abscess since last Sunday. Visit the dentist yesterday and was given antibiotics. After reading the comments I decide to try it.. I actually fell asleep with the teabag and when I woke up the abscess was ruptured and the teabag had sucked up all the pus. Good thing I had the teabag in .. or maybe I would have swallow the pus .. thanks for these reviews.. really helped!! 🙏

Tea Bag for a Tooth Abscess

This works. Earlier in the week an old filling came out of a bottom right molar and took a small piece of the tooth, too. I had some minor aches here and there but I knew something was up when my gums around it started getting red, etc. This morning I woke up with a swollen face and a lot of pain. I’ve had my share of dental issues in the past but I’ve never before had facial swelling much less the start of a small “golf ball”. I was freaking out because I don’t have insurance right now and quite frankly it’s the last thing I need right now (not that it’s ever a good time but now really isn’t! ) - and the facial swelling had me WORRIED. I decided to give this a try as a Hail Mary before I made the inevitable and dreaded call to an emergency dentist. I boiled water, steeped a black tea bag for 5 mins, and then laid down on the couch. Woke up an hour later with hardly any pain. I was shocked. I felt a very minor and faint pinch almost from within my tooth - hard to explain - and then had a slight weird taste in my mouth that I immediately tended to so clearly that was the infection itself within my tooth starting to drain. No dramatic bursting or anything crazy. I used a different tea bag each time and did it 2 more times today for about 30-45 mins each and will continue tomorrow. Now, tonight at 8:00, my swelling is almost totally gone. No pain. I don’t think I’m 100% out of the woods just yet, but I know I’m well on my way. I feel so much better in more ways than one! So, yeah, it truly works and I’m so thankful and grateful that it did.

Black Tea Bag for a Tooth Abscess

Black tea bag is a game changer!

Had a filling break my tooth and fall out. In the beginning things weren’t too bad but all of a sudden things changed. Got an abscess in my gum/cheek area above the tooth. Saw the dentist and told me I’ll need a root canal and crown and gave Amoxicillin prescription and told to take Motrin. Within 2 days pain was unbearable and nothing worked. After being driven crazy by the pain and kept up all night I honestly considering doing my own dental work and pulling out the tooth until I found this site. I tried the tea bag and after 15 minutes on the area pain was alleviated. I’m still swollen but feel like I should finally be able to get some sleep. Swelling has gone down and I feel a calm I haven’t had all week.

Ginger for Toothache

Hi, I have. A broken molar that I should have gotten treated a long time ago. Because of traveling I have not had my regular oral hygiene and Ive been eating too much sugary foods. I'm in a country house away from home. The pain yesterday was so high I wished for death. Although Garlic had worked wonders in the past It didn't this time. There were some frequency binaural audios that helped in the past..not this time.

After trying salt water, Binéfar, alum and every tea you.can think of I remembered the antiinflamatorios properties of Ginger. My opinion IS while Garlic is an excellent antibiotic and works to treat the infection It can easily burn your mouth and the taste IS unpleasant. Tor those reasons its not practical to have for a long time next to the afectes área.

Ginger on the other hand IS an antiinflamatory that starts fighting inflamación right after you apply It and It can be kept there for a long time. I cut 2 Slim slices bite them little bit in the pain free side to the the juices flowing and put the on each side of the gym if the afectes tooth.if you are not able to do this operation with your mouth feel free to wash your hand with soap and acomódate the Ginger slides with your fingers.Thats all! Go on with your daily tasks.eventually you Will even forget its there and you Will forget you had a toothache.you can Crush It a little bit more every now and then yo keep the juice flowing.dont swalow saliva.alow It to mix with the Ginger juice.I personally LOVE the taste of Ginger.

Advice: choose a Ginger root that IS Big in size not small and organic.the small ones are extremelly potente comcentrated with less water content and It can be hard to keep in your mouth.they burn like garlic. For this use it's better the lower potency Ginger, the kind that la Big in size usually coming from China.

After 30 minutes you can Crush It put all the pieces around your affected tooth for a little.bit and swallow It for extra internal antiinflammatory effects.
Combining Garlic and Ginger can be your BEST bet cause hit the infection and the inflamación. feel free to experiment

Garlic for infected gum, tooth abscess

What a Godsend finding this info! Last couple of days, an infection in my gum suddenly developed(in between 2 molars) and a nasty swelling grew which throbbed and made me feel miserable. I knew that garlic can be helpful but I would never have thought it to be so effective. Late afternoon, and after reading through other's results, I took it in earnest and followed similar protocol. I used about 4 cloves in all, each one minced & taken separately in bit of water - hourly. Also sprayed with CS, also took liposomal vit C, which I happened to have. Went to bed and during the early hours of morning awoke to discover, to my amazement that the swelling had gone! I think it drained itself.I was expecting to have to continue treatment on next day I am so grateful!! I can hardly believe it!

Magnesium Oil Helping Infection Under Dental Crown Implant

Tooth infection/smell/implant

I had an infection under the crown of my implant. I bought a water pick thinking that would really clean it. Started using Peroxide in the water, and using something similar to theives oil in the area 2 or more times a day. NO improvement at all. I was persistent for over 4 months. Went to the dentist, he basically said the crown would have to be replaced etc.... THEN, I was reading an article about how magnesium oil can help with tooth infections. I sprayed both sides of the tooth, swished for 10 min. In 3 days there was more than 50 % improvement. I am 7 days now. There is no odour at all. I am going to continue for a few weeks because I had it for so long. I am so happy and relieved!!

Hope this helps someone else.

Echinacea, Goldenseal for a Tooth Abscess

I too had success using echinacea and goldenseal for an abscessed tooth, a bottom molar with pain and swelling in my jaw that had been bothering me for several days. I let a dentist take an x-ray and they referred me for root canal evaluation. I used a tincture that I diluted in a little water and swished it around the troubled tooth several times a day. It started feeling better that day and within 2 days feeling pretty much back to normal. I will continue this regiment for three more days and, if all still feels good, go to a maintenance dose.

Cloves for a Tooth Infection

Elizabeth (Montreal, Canada) on 04/08/2023

I have had several abscessed on one tooth. After seeing a naturopath for a parasite in my liver (gluten intolerance), I felt all tooth and jaw inflammation desist, leaving me with with is hopefully strictly a minor gum infection that has pussed a few times.

Currently I'm using salt rinses and cloves. Dosage: soak one clove along the infected gum line until it's a bit softer -about 10 to 15 mins-, which will release the oils. WARNING: Ca brule, en maudite!! It's quite a hot oil and burns where it lay. Confessionally I did not experience the burn on the inflammation portion AT ALL. I only felt the burn on the healthy skins. The inflamed area was totally accepting of the burning oil like it wasn't burning.

Outside regular cleaning, I've been using a salt wash and cloves about 4 times a day for about 4 days, and I'll shift to another natural antibiotic next week, such as garlic or olive Leaf Oil, as I understand bacteria acclimatise to antibiotics.

OMG what an amazing treatment!

I want to thank all the posters for their experiences. I tried several things before the freshly crushed garlic clove held next to the toothache area for as long as I could tolerate the burning (about 20-30”).
When I lay down to sleep, I had quite a headache along with the still throbbing toothache. But it's now been about 2 hours later and I want to thank Abba Father God because I feel like a new person. It's just a tiny bit sore now. I hope to wake up in the morning well once again. (PS I swallowed that lg crushed clove with peanut butter.).

Tea Bag Method for a Tooth Abscess

Have a gum boil on my lower molar for 4 days, face swollen and pain on the jaw that I can barely eat! Can’t afford to go to dentist, so tried otc pain killers, salt water, baking soda, garlic, hydrogen peroxide, listerine….none of them worked! Tea bag is my last resort …. first one in the morning, reduced my swelling a tiny bit, still in pain and unable to eat. second and third in the afternoon, the “golf ball” shrunk, not as much pain and able to eat a bit of soft food. Applied another one early evening, saw blood on the teabag … now feel far better! Thanks for all the helpful reviews!

Have used the black tea bag before. It definitely works on subduing the pain and pulling infection. You do need to steep it a bit first. And if it hurts to put it on, like it does when it is really bad and they are hot/warm, allowing it to cool to room temperature does not deter effectiveness, I just add a few minutes to treatment time. I cannot adequately express how quickly it starts to work! If you are hurting please try it!

Onion Remedy for a Tooth Abscess

I accidentally discovered the red onion method for a tooth abscess. I had a sandwich that had red onions. Because of my craggy tooth a piece of onion got caught in it. After trying to get it out for about 10 minutes, using my tongue and mouth suction with the lips closed, I finally got it out...... followed by pus. The onion being there started pulling out the infection. AWESOME STUFF!

Turmeric for a Tooth Abscess After Garlic Caused Inflammation

Nadia (Leeds, England) on 11/14/2022
5 out of 5 stars

I have suffered 2 abscesses recently, within 3 months of each other, due to a chipped tooth.

On both occasions my go to was garlic, however it seems garlic causes a worse reaction for me.

I read all the reviews of using garlic for the pain and healing, I had hoped it would work for me, but it seemed to have an opposite effect.

On occasion 1, I had turmeric milk throughout the day, and before bed I used garlic. I woke up with my abscess so big my right cheek looked like I had a couple of golf balls in there.

On occasion 2, ( 3 months later) I woke up feeling a slight lump in my cheek. I realised an infection was coming on, so I used garlic again. Whereas most commentating say garlic helps the pain and reduces swelling, I had the opposite effect, within a few hours my face had swollen even worse then the first time!!

I tried a different approach this time. I took the garlic orally with a concoction I had seen online. 1/2 teaspoon ginger, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, some garlic finely diced, and I had it with live yoghurt. Live yoghurt is full of probiotics. The original concoction suggested raw honey but I only had the processed honey at home.

This concoction worked amazingly. Bearing in mind how big the abscess was, I felt no pain.

I went into fasting mode. The only things I had, turmeric milk ( milk with teaspoon of turmeric and black pepper, yoghurt with turmeric or garlic, and the above mentioned concoction.

Occasionally I would try garlic on the tooth and inflamed area ( after biting on it to release the healing juices) but I do not feel it had any effect.

I find turmeric makes me warm, and in turn causes a reaction which makes the abcess come to a head.

Within 3 days the abcess came to a head. On the morning it came to a head, I had activia yoghurt (for flavour) with a lot of turmeric in ( about 2 teaspoons) I then went and used my waterpik flosser, and I could feel pain when my flosser went over a certain area, so I tolerated the pain, and the abcess started releasing blood.

So if garlic does not work, try turmeric milk, and turmeric in live yoghurt. Bearing in mind how swollen my face was and how widespread the infection was, I stayed pain free for the duration of the 3 days! On my first flare up I was popping painkillers and ibuprofen regularly. This time no painkillers!

Colloidal Silver for Tooth Infection

Linda (high desert) on 08/25/2022

Not sure, so I have this real bad tooth now for 2 years, as the dentists here don't want to deal with it. I live in an area where you have to resort to natural healing because the medical system here is bad. I've been to a dentist and he said I had a cavity and that was it and walked away. Never fixed it, that's the extent of the service here. So I got some colloidal silver recently and it's not helping. Maybe I got a bad brand, it would be nice to know what brand to go buy since there are so many out there.

Anyway I swish this in my mouth for awhile, I internally take it, as my pain is not going away. I apply it directly to the tooth and let it sit there for awhile and the pain stays. It doesn't even put a dent in it. Today I got some sovereign silver because I heard it was the best. It takes months here to get a dental appt we're talking 5, the population here is 321 don't ask me. I lucked out and got one in 3 days because someone cancelled. So I'm going to go back to the original guy and see what he says. I can't get in anywhere for an extraction as they just say they are backed up months. This current silver I'm using is supposed to be 500 but its not all that cracked up to be. I don't believe it's authentic. I'll see what happens with the Sovereign I have faith that it will work. I have an infection in my face and it's not fun, anyway that's my experience so far.

Activated Charcoal + Bentonite Clay for Tooth Abscess

PB (NC) on 04/23/2022

I had three abscessed teeth recently, thought I only had one. I still had to wait a week after getting a referral from the dentist before seeing an Endodontic specialist. I mixed up some bentonite clay and activated charcoal; then applied it to a strip of press n seal that I had cut to fit around the gums above my three abscessed teeth. I then applied the mixture of charcoal and clay paste it to my infected gum area and changed it with a fresh one every couple of hours. I also put a fresh one on before bed time and left it on my gums over night.

That mixture of clay and charcoal took out the pain and discomfort. I did not have any issues with the press n seal sliding around my gum area either. The trickiest part was getting the consistency right with the clay and charcoal paste. A little trial and error went a long ways. The right side of my face had swollen up so I put clay on it and then small strips of press in seal to keep it moist. The swelling in my face and gums continued to go down. I always keep a bottle of capsules of activated charcoal and bentonite clay handy especially when traveling.

SALT WASH + coconut oil helps! Very very salty warm water oral rinses, 3 times per day. (morning + noon + and night) - and count to 100 while swishing the SALTY warm water in your mouth. The best pain reliever I have found is regular aspirin.

I created a poultice with baking soda, turmeric, and lavender oil and it was effective at soothing and numbing pain as well as protecting the area against air and water. A raw smooshed onion poultice also helped. Yarrow and other greens chewed up and held against the teeth can be antiseptic and soothing.

Garlic for a Tooth Abscess

So, I've experienced a lot of bad tooth pain in my life, which nothing has ever helped, at a time in my life when I had no money for a private dentist and I couldn't travel to an emergency center, I had intense pain that would make even my eyeballs scream with pain, I tried many things over the years, and today I had the worst toothache of my life and haven't slept a wink all night, at 4am I seriously thought I wasn't going to make it the 4 hours until my private dentist in the area opens up and was considering calling the ambulance, I spotted online someone talking about garlic with salt because of the allicin being an antibiotic, oh my god.. finally something has worked, it took a lot of garlic and an hour of constantly using it but my pain is now just a mild throbbing instead of me laying on the ground feeling sick and moaning and groaning in absolute agony.

THIS WORKS, I still feel sick because of the garlic and salt but I have a smile on my face and feel I can make the next 3 hours till my dentist opens, massive improvement.

I used 4 cloves of garlic in a garlic crusher, 2 pinches of salt and then used the flat side of my knife over and over to create a smooth paste, I placed it directly on the tooth, around the tooth, the gum, everywhere I was effected, please do this next time you have toothache instead of rip off over the counter medicines.
