Hydrogen Peroxide Caution!

Adrienne (ID) on 04/27/2025

Darn! One of my molars broke off so I had to have the rest of it pulled out. The dentist said take Ibuprofen for pain relief. Well, since there was a little infection in the area where the root had been, and since it was still hurting after three days, I decided to swish some hydrogen peroxide in my mouth. I mixed it half and half with water and also put it on some cotton that I fit up into the space where the tooth had been. This morning I woke up with a swollen upper lip! I wondered if it was the Ibuprofen, and then I wondered if it was the hydrogen peroxide so I checked online and sure enough hydrogen peroxide can cause an allergic reaction that includes swelling of the lips. I expect the swelling to go down, but I sure wouldn't want to go anywhere looking like this! There goes the jam session!

Garlic Ideas for a Tooth Abscess

Jan (Southern Utah) on 02/01/2025
5 out of 5 stars

I have a right lower back molar that was already sensitive to pressure, feeling kinda uncomfortable. My tooth flared up bad after given a bag of zebra popcorn at the end of a snacks potluck... I took it home and couldn't resist eating all that sugar junk over 24hours time, and its been a shock to my system especially this tooth. Not an easy repair. Pain had spread to whole jaw and cheek swelling and then started going down my neck. But this is what is helping a lot.

  • Garlic on tooth- cut a piece of garlic off the clove that is the width of the tooth. Any length is OK. The cut exposed side is the side that I use. First I used the point of a small knife to make various lines to help loosen the exposed garlic side. I put the cut side on the affected tooth. I can keep it there overnight while sleeping or for an hour. I can feel a warming sensation to the surrounding gum and jaw area like the garlic is spreading. The uncut side of the garlic doesn't seem to affect or burn my tongue or side of cheek cause its not cut. This helps with feeling less and lowering the abscess.
  • Blend garlic for a quick drink - I put 1 whole big piece garlic in blender with just enough water to cover the blades. Blend to liquefy about a minute. This could irritate my stomach when drinking so I have to have some other nourishment before or after, not on an empty stomach then quickly drink the shot down. ASAP. It burns the throat a little for a few seconds but quickly subsides. This brings tooth pain relief within the hour of trying it.
  • Put garlic in whatever food I have. Crushed raw garlic added at the end to some soup or blend in a smoothie with a whole lemon including peel and scoop of plant based collagen or protein powder.
  • Don't use animal products while trying to get better, it has foreign DNA that stresses immune system.
  • Lemon garlic lemonade recipe - that has brought abscess down by half. I had prayer what to do when the pain was bad and got this idea that works. 2 cups water, one whole small or half large lemon with the peel. One garlic clove, honey to taste...blend to liquefy about 3minutes on a regular blender... Tastes ok
  • Garlic pills - make sure any immune support pills have garlic. But the raw garlic works best.

So far so good, the jaw, cheek and neck are back to normal. My tooth is still alive and improving, not as painful.

A quick pain relief before the garlic on tooth is a special tooth brushing. I put natural toothpaste on toothbrush then dip toothbrush in some Aztec calcium bentonite powder. Then a drop or two of clove oil on that and brush the tooth and gums around tooth. This helps quickly temporarily for relief but the garlic helps deeper and more long-term.

Also taking 1000 mg vit c with rosehips multiple times during the day. And holding hand over the area of cheek and jaw. I have read the hand helps with good healing energy... Staying hydrated is important, getting enough sleep is vital.

And natural nourishing salad helps, such as: 6 cups cooked white beans, half raw cabbage thinly sliced slaw with handful each of green onions, arugula, parsley all sliced, handful of a mix of raw sunflower pumpkin seeds and pine nuts, the grated zest and dressing of juiced lemon, spoon of mustard, some tamari sauce about 1/8 cup...mix well, big salad, eat for meals till gone. Helps with healing. Good nourishing mix.

Also snack of vanilla flavored plain coco june coconut yogurt with a little non sugar munk fruit extract sweetener. Known to help with cavities.

Peroxide, Oil Pulling and Castor Oil for Tooth Abscess

Peroxide, Oil Pulling and Castor oil for Tooth Abscess...

I had a really bad tooth abscess... so, I grabbed some Peroxide and raised, then did a coconut oil pull, then I took Tylenol.. terrible pain. Then I might have made a mistake. I put turpentine on the area, and castor oil. (Two weeks earlier I had a large cyst on my left breast... size of a lime. So, I got busy... most cyst, and tumors are parasites... not cancer. So, never freak out. Just kill the suckers. So, I cleaned my breast with Peroxide, then put a thin layer of Turpentine and covered the area with Castor oil... must be organic.) Baby... the pain on my chest was bad... So, I took some tylenol and Goody's powder. I applied that stuff three times daily and cleaned the area with warm water... pumpkin pie... my breast was draining within two days. The Turpentine killed the parasites, and the Castor Oil brought the cyst to a head... and it all drained out and no more pain within 3 days!!! ) If you have cancer or anytype of growth... try my protocal before seeing a holistic doctor. The body can heal itself everytime. OK. Back to my teeth... I put some turpentine and castor oil on my face over the abscess??? I immediately felt the Turpentine numb my lips? I woke up and my entire left side of my face was numb and dropping??? I thought I had a stroke... it was the Turpentine? Anyway, the pain is almost gone. It's been three days. The numbness, swollen face is almost gone. I'm still doing a peroxide rinse with oil pulling several times daily. I'm still applying the castor oil... getting some sun on my face and eyes... I'm in the process of healing and regrowing my teeth and gums... it's possible. Hope this helps! I use peroxide for many things... if you can't breathe... just put a dot under your nose... and you can breathe in a few seconds.

Onion in Sock for Tooth Infection

Onion in Sock Overnight for Tooth Infection

I had a severe tooth infection. Due to antibiotic sensitivity, I tried every natural remedy I read about: chewing raw garlic (which just kept me afloat), salt water, raw honey, whatever I could think of... 4 days later, I was severely ill. My friend suggested cutting up a fresh onion and putting it in a sock. Then, to put the sock on my foot overnight. I got a red organic onion and did as she instructed. The next morning, the onion was slimy (as expected) and my infection symptoms were nearly entirely out of my body. After one more night of the red onion treatment I had no more problems....

Okay...now, it's been 4 years and I still can't eat cold foods as I'm 'prone to infection' but hadn't gotten one since. The dentist said, after doing a cold sensitivity test, that he believes it's possibly a 'reversible' pulpitis and wants me to do an antibiotic before considering a root canal. He said, the 'clue' to it being severe/irreversible is that I'd be in a lot of pain (like I'd had 4 years prior) So...I'm going to try the natural 'first'. I'll go back to the red onion, add in some food grade H2O2 to gargle as well as warm salt water.

What I 'think' is that I needed to continue with the red onion until I had no problems at all. OR... the red onion wasn't enough to 'pull' the infection out of the tooth, but only out of my body.

I will keep this post updated, but I just felt it's of good note that the onion in the sock has so much good effect.

Xylitol for a Tooth Abscess

Jay ( Boston, MA ) on 07/09/2024

Here's a simple and pleasant remedy for a tooth abscess. First, it's important to know that teeth are in fact porous. Tubular passages within the tooth structure allow for substances to pass through. So xylitol powder is what you want, xylitol from birch trees not corn, I feel. Take 1/8 teaspoon approximately of xylitol, and actively swish it around in the mouth until your mouth is so full of saliva that you no longer can do it.. Then spit it all out! Do this daily to both reverse and prevent dental abscesses. It works very well for me.

Treat Liver & Gut for Teeth Issues

Daniel (Colombia SA) on 04/06/2024

I would like to throw my experience in the ring as well. I have tried everything with various tooth problems. The root cause has to be treated if you are having problems with your teeth. Problems or triggers come in 4 basic categories, Spiritual, Diet and mineral / vitamin deficiencies and imbalances, Toxins: chemical, biological and energetic (EMF and such), And then Psychological ie Emotional stress. We have to remember, one or more of these areas can be creating a break in the chain of good health. So we can take CS and it might give us a quick fix, but if the problem is chronic such as a root canal treated tooth, too much silver for too long can create an deficiency in other minerals such as copper. So I recommend referring to a mineral wheel for interactions whenever taking any minerals in excess. For tooth pain, you might want to try drinking Lemon juice made from the parts of the fruit everyone else tosses out. I toss out the acidic juice which is damaging to already weak teeth, and then I blend the rest in the blender with water. The peel, rind and seeds are where all the nutrients are. Problems with teeth and eyes are caused by liver and gut problems. Lemon helps rid the liver of fatty toxins with the lemon oil and other chemicals. I like the lemon because it gives quick pain relief due to its noninflammatory properties while the bitter chemicals have a strong antimicrobial effect and stimulate the liver to pump out bile and toxins (peristalsis). Anyhow fixing teeth is not a quick fix but rather a process and journey. Hope this helps point someone in the right direction.

Olive Leaf Extract Helps Tooth Pain

broadusername (Waco, TX) on 09/27/2023
5 out of 5 stars

A year ago I had all four wisdom teeth removed, plus another tooth. They didn't want to remove the 6th because they felt like removing 6 teeth at once would put too much stress on my body. So, for the past year I've had a broken tooth that's partially dead. Last week it started hurting, and the gumline was pretty red along the lower left side of my mouth. The pain got incredibly intense and would not go away over the course of a few days.

I started taking Olive Leaf Extract (250mg/day) for the first two days. By the third, I ramped it up to 500mg/day, and by the 4th or 5th day, 1,000mg/day in two doses (one in the AM, one in the evening). Once I started doing 500mg per day, I noticed the pain had begun to subside. At 1,000mg/day, it subsided even more.

It's important to note that I also took Bromelain w/ the Olive Leaf Extract to (potentially) help breakdown and absorb the OLE into my bloodstream more efficiently + rinsed my mouth with Oregano Oil (the liquid version with carvacrol).

I'm not entirely sure if it's the Olive Leaf Extract, the Oregano Oil liquid mouth rinse, or both, but one way or another my gums look a 100% better than they have in a long time, and the pain has subsided to being barely noticeable.

I'm still headed to the dentist (today, actually) because I haven't been to one since last years wisdom tooth surgery and need to go regardless of tooth pain or not.

Tea Bag for a Tooth Abscess

HL (Green Bay (USA)) on 07/08/2023

This works. Earlier in the week an old filling came out of a bottom right molar and took a small piece of the tooth, too. I had some minor aches here and there but I knew something was up when my gums around it started getting red, etc. This morning I woke up with a swollen face and a lot of pain. I’ve had my share of dental issues in the past but I’ve never before had facial swelling much less the start of a small “golf ball”. I was freaking out because I don’t have insurance right now and quite frankly it’s the last thing I need right now (not that it’s ever a good time but now really isn’t! ) - and the facial swelling had me WORRIED. I decided to give this a try as a Hail Mary before I made the inevitable and dreaded call to an emergency dentist. I boiled water, steeped a black tea bag for 5 mins, and then laid down on the couch. Woke up an hour later with hardly any pain. I was shocked. I felt a very minor and faint pinch almost from within my tooth - hard to explain - and then had a slight weird taste in my mouth that I immediately tended to so clearly that was the infection itself within my tooth starting to drain. No dramatic bursting or anything crazy. I used a different tea bag each time and did it 2 more times today for about 30-45 mins each and will continue tomorrow. Now, tonight at 8:00, my swelling is almost totally gone. No pain. I don’t think I’m 100% out of the woods just yet, but I know I’m well on my way. I feel so much better in more ways than one! So, yeah, it truly works and I’m so thankful and grateful that it did.

Black Tea Bag for a Tooth Abscess

Black tea bag is a game changer!

Had a filling break my tooth and fall out. In the beginning things weren’t too bad but all of a sudden things changed. Got an abscess in my gum/cheek area above the tooth. Saw the dentist and told me I’ll need a root canal and crown and gave Amoxicillin prescription and told to take Motrin. Within 2 days pain was unbearable and nothing worked. After being driven crazy by the pain and kept up all night I honestly considering doing my own dental work and pulling out the tooth until I found this site. I tried the tea bag and after 15 minutes on the area pain was alleviated. I’m still swollen but feel like I should finally be able to get some sleep. Swelling has gone down and I feel a calm I haven’t had all week.

Ginger for Toothache

Fede (Madrid ) on 06/06/2023

Hi, I have. A broken molar that I should have gotten treated a long time ago. Because of traveling I have not had my regular oral hygiene and Ive been eating too much sugary foods. I'm in a country house away from home. The pain yesterday was so high I wished for death. Although Garlic had worked wonders in the past It didn't this time. There were some frequency binaural audios that helped in the past..not this time.

After trying salt water, Binéfar, alum and every tea you.can think of I remembered the antiinflamatorios properties of Ginger. My opinion IS while Garlic is an excellent antibiotic and works to treat the infection It can easily burn your mouth and the taste IS unpleasant. Tor those reasons its not practical to have for a long time next to the afectes área.

Ginger on the other hand IS an antiinflamatory that starts fighting inflamación right after you apply It and It can be kept there for a long time. I cut 2 Slim slices bite them little bit in the pain free side to the the juices flowing and put the on each side of the gym if the afectes tooth.if you are not able to do this operation with your mouth feel free to wash your hand with soap and acomódate the Ginger slides with your fingers.Thats all! Go on with your daily tasks.eventually you Will even forget its there and you Will forget you had a toothache.you can Crush It a little bit more every now and then yo keep the juice flowing.dont swalow saliva.alow It to mix with the Ginger juice.I personally LOVE the taste of Ginger.

Advice: choose a Ginger root that IS Big in size not small and organic.the small ones are extremelly potente comcentrated with less water content and It can be hard to keep in your mouth.they burn like garlic. For this use it's better the lower potency Ginger, the kind that la Big in size usually coming from China.

After 30 minutes you can Crush It put all the pieces around your affected tooth for a little.bit and swallow It for extra internal antiinflammatory effects.
Combining Garlic and Ginger can be your BEST bet cause hit the infection and the inflamación. feel free to experiment

Garlic for infected gum, tooth abscess

What a Godsend finding this info! Last couple of days, an infection in my gum suddenly developed(in between 2 molars) and a nasty swelling grew which throbbed and made me feel miserable. I knew that garlic can be helpful but I would never have thought it to be so effective. Late afternoon, and after reading through other's results, I took it in earnest and followed similar protocol. I used about 4 cloves in all, each one minced & taken separately in bit of water - hourly. Also sprayed with CS, also took liposomal vit C, which I happened to have. Went to bed and during the early hours of morning awoke to discover, to my amazement that the swelling had gone! I think it drained itself.I was expecting to have to continue treatment on next day I am so grateful!! I can hardly believe it!

Magnesium Oil Helping Infection Under Dental Crown Implant

Tooth infection/smell/implant

I had an infection under the crown of my implant. I bought a water pick thinking that would really clean it. Started using Peroxide in the water, and using something similar to theives oil in the area 2 or more times a day. NO improvement at all. I was persistent for over 4 months. Went to the dentist, he basically said the crown would have to be replaced etc.... THEN, I was reading an article about how magnesium oil can help with tooth infections. I sprayed both sides of the tooth, swished for 10 min. In 3 days there was more than 50 % improvement. I am 7 days now. There is no odour at all. I am going to continue for a few weeks because I had it for so long. I am so happy and relieved!!

Hope this helps someone else.

Echinacea, Goldenseal for a Tooth Abscess

I too had success using echinacea and goldenseal for an abscessed tooth, a bottom molar with pain and swelling in my jaw that had been bothering me for several days. I let a dentist take an x-ray and they referred me for root canal evaluation. I used a tincture that I diluted in a little water and swished it around the troubled tooth several times a day. It started feeling better that day and within 2 days feeling pretty much back to normal. I will continue this regiment for three more days and, if all still feels good, go to a maintenance dose.

Cloves for a Tooth Infection

I have had several abscessed on one tooth. After seeing a naturopath for a parasite in my liver (gluten intolerance), I felt all tooth and jaw inflammation desist, leaving me with with is hopefully strictly a minor gum infection that has pussed a few times.

Currently I'm using salt rinses and cloves. Dosage: soak one clove along the infected gum line until it's a bit softer -about 10 to 15 mins-, which will release the oils. WARNING: Ca brule, en maudite!! It's quite a hot oil and burns where it lay. Confessionally I did not experience the burn on the inflammation portion AT ALL. I only felt the burn on the healthy skins. The inflamed area was totally accepting of the burning oil like it wasn't burning.

Outside regular cleaning, I've been using a salt wash and cloves about 4 times a day for about 4 days, and I'll shift to another natural antibiotic next week, such as garlic or olive Leaf Oil, as I understand bacteria acclimatise to antibiotics.

OMG what an amazing treatment!

I want to thank all the posters for their experiences. I tried several things before the freshly crushed garlic clove held next to the toothache area for as long as I could tolerate the burning (about 20-30”).
When I lay down to sleep, I had quite a headache along with the still throbbing toothache. But it's now been about 2 hours later and I want to thank Abba Father God because I feel like a new person. It's just a tiny bit sore now. I hope to wake up in the morning well once again. (PS I swallowed that lg crushed clove with peanut butter.).

Have a gum boil on my lower molar for 4 days, face swollen and pain on the jaw that I can barely eat! Can’t afford to go to dentist, so tried otc pain killers, salt water, baking soda, garlic, hydrogen peroxide, listerine….none of them worked! Tea bag is my last resort …. first one in the morning, reduced my swelling a tiny bit, still in pain and unable to eat. second and third in the afternoon, the “golf ball” shrunk, not as much pain and able to eat a bit of soft food. Applied another one early evening, saw blood on the teabag … now feel far better! Thanks for all the helpful reviews!

Have used the black tea bag before. It definitely works on subduing the pain and pulling infection. You do need to steep it a bit first. And if it hurts to put it on, like it does when it is really bad and they are hot/warm, allowing it to cool to room temperature does not deter effectiveness, I just add a few minutes to treatment time. I cannot adequately express how quickly it starts to work! If you are hurting please try it!

I accidentally discovered the red onion method for a tooth abscess. I had a sandwich that had red onions. Because of my craggy tooth a piece of onion got caught in it. After trying to get it out for about 10 minutes, using my tongue and mouth suction with the lips closed, I finally got it out...... followed by pus. The onion being there started pulling out the infection. AWESOME STUFF!
