Better But With Side Effects

I had a terrible sore throat - hurt to swallow. Gargled and held half peroxide and half water in mouth a few times. It definitely got rid of the sore throat, but now have no sense of taste and smell.

Perhaps if I had diluted the peroxide more than I did would have been OK, but I'll not chance it again.

Hydrogen Peroxide Gargle for Sore Throat

I've had a miserable sore throat from a sinus infection for TWO WEEKS! If I didn't have constant post nasal glop dripping down my throat I would be really concerned it was more serious. My only symptoms were sore ears and sore throat, with the drip but the sore throat has been miserable. I was hesitant to try the peroxide but was willing to try anything at this point. Tried it 15 minutes ago and got immediate relief. Tried a second time and feel better. I will gargle again this evening and will try the peroxide in my ears tonite. Thanks for the tip!

I had a horrible sore throat...worst ever! I tried salt water, aspirin, lozenges, etc. Nothing worked. I was in bed that night when I remembered rinsing my mouth with peroxide for a tooth infection. I thought that may work. I got up and gargled with the full strength peroxide (3%). In the morning, it was better but not gone. I repeated the process and by afternoon it was completely gone. So happy to see your post, advocating hydrogen peroxide. I am here to say it is great!

Hydrogen peroxide in the ears will quickly stop a sore throat. Just put a few drops in one ear at a time and leave in for 10 or 15 minutes, or until it stops bubbling. Repeat in other ear. Have tried multiple times and recommended to others and it works great!

I use 3% hydrogen peroxide per instructions on the bottle. Mix half and half with water. Gargle allowing the peroxide mix to hit all infected area's. (I usually always gag) Spit out the mix.....I wait a couple minutes before rinsing with water. (just to make sure its doing the job) Instant relief!!! I would not use on a regular basis.....because tho it kills all the bad germs, it also kills all the good. Please use in moderation.

Just tried my first throat cleansing using the 3% hydrogen peroxide gargle remedy and I'm already feeling the ease of my pain and irritation. Thank you so very much!

I woke up with an awful sore throat today and have been trying to kick it but nothing had seemed to work. I tried the salt water, lozenges, and decongestants with no results. I decided to give this hydrogen peroxide thing a try. As soon as I started to gargle it made me vomit into the sink. (gross! ) Needless to say I won't be trying that again...ever!

Tried both ways, 3% straight and 3% mixed with an equal part of water, and they work! 3% straight works the best overall but tastes aweful. I got instant relief from the soreness, I began sneezing, my nose started to run, and I started coughing up the infection. I'm definitely putting this natural remedy onto my list of treatments!
