Iodine for Ringworm

I have had what I had thought was simply an enlarged pore or scar on my cheek, right next to my nose. I tried acv, pure hydrogen peroxide 10%, colloidal silver and other things; this is why I thought it was simply a scar or something.

I found a neat product called Bee Propolis w/Iodine Tincture, so I put 2 drops onto it and only the infected area went dark. Did this 2x/day for 4-5 days and then it was all gone. Amazing stuff!

Tea Tree Oil for Ringworm

I rubbed tea tree oil into a ringworm infection on my chest which was growing rapidly. The oil stopped it in its tracks. It got a bit blistered after 1 week. I covered with a plaster but still applied the oil daily. It’s practically gone now and all left behind is clear skin.

Oregano Oil for Ringworm

Oregano Oil is the holy grail for ringworm!

I didn’t know what it was, a spot appeared on my leg after a pedicure, it spread and it clicked that it was ringworm. I tried apple cider vinegar, bleach, tea tree oil, Lotrimin, miconazole, pure acetone, absorbine plus, a fungal wash from Walmart, borax, and then Oregano oil. I took 60mg capsules orally three times a day and then used it topically three times a day. The oil I purchased was from GNC and it already had a carrier oil in it. I can’t tell you how glad I was to find a cure. I will never go back for a pedicure ever again.

Bee Propolis w/Iodine Tincture Beats Ringworm

I have had this "thing" on my face, right beside my nose. I have had it for 25+ yrs now. I did indeed try ACV, Coconut Oil and Hydrogen Peroxide on it and absolutely nothing changed. I bought a bottle of Bee Propolis with Iodine tincture to try it out. I put it on the area and 4 days later now and it is almost gone! I figured if ACV or HP didn't work on it, there was nothing I could do. I am so glad I tried this! If you have ringworm, don't give up. If the most popular cures don't work for your body, keep trying! I am so glad I found this stuff!

Ozonated Olive Oil for Ringworm/Tinea

I have had ringworm on my back for a few years and this past winter it exploded. The topical creams from my doctor stopped working. Finally went to see my naturopath and she put me on an anti-fungal protocol for a month. And she gave me ozonated olive oil to use topically. I use that twice a day and the marks have almost completely disappeared in 10 days. It smells strong (kind of rancid - but it's the ozone) but it works amazingly well. This is the one I have. https://www.shaughnessypharmacy.com/products/ozonated-olive-oil

Keep it refrigerated to keep it potent. Wear an old t-shirt while sleeping so you protect your bedding. Multiple thin applications are better than one thick one.

I have tried everything for this and am blown away by the effectiveness of the ozone. I hope it helps others.

Rubbing Alcohol + Clotrimazole Cream for Ringworm

I treated my ringworm with rubbing alcohol and clotrimazole cream and it cleared up in about two weeks. I tried cleaning the area before applying the cream with hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, then apple cider vinegar, but the rubbing alcohol seems to have been effective. After cleaning, I'd put a glob of the cream and cover it for 48 hours with a waterproof bandage (the Nexcare Max Hold Waterproof bandages are great), repeated for a few weeks and it's almost completely cleared up. Also tried the clear nail polish for a few days, to no avail.

Fig Leaf Sap for Ringworm - NAY!

Allison (Houston, Texas) on 11/21/2021

Please DO NOT use fig sap! It is a strong proteolytic enzyme that will eat up the flesh. I had tried this on a ringworm on my belly after the vinegar didn't work. The fig sap just ate up the flesh and made it raw and extremely painful but did nothing to get rid the ringworm. Just like the other person said from 2010, it's like a chemical burn, so DON'T try it on yourself or your pets!

Alkalizing for Ringworm

Saying that fungus doesn't survive in a pH level of 6.5 and higher is wrong because the normal range for human bodies is between 7.2 - 7.4. Taking that into consideration, it should mean that no fungus should grow in a body with a normal pH balance of 7.2, but it does.

I adopted a kitten from the Humane Society and it had ringworm. Once I had the kitten treated, I found one on my jaw area. I put a dab of ACV on a cotton ball and pressed it on the area and attached it with a band aid. After a few minutes, I felt it burning. So I took it off, let it dry and did the same thing the next evening. The edges dried up and scabbed. but it looks like the ringworm is gone.

Hi everyone!

After close to 3 years, all ringworm has gone! What worked with me was vicks vaporub mixed wd 1-2 drops of pure oregano oil. applied on the affected area 2-3x a day. Start wd just one drop of oregano oil coz its very strong, and build it up as your skin can tolerate it. At first, my skin got very red and extremely itchy, I had to stop adding oregano oil, just vicks. But during the time I started applying it on my skin, I mixed 4-5 drops of oregano oil in coconut oil and drank it ( 2-3x a day) Please be advised, oregano oil is very strong,, not for the faint of heart! If you can't tolerate it, just lower the dose or add more coconut oil. Anyway, on the 3rd day of treatment, the itching was gone. So I just stuck to applying vicks but continued wd the drink. On the 5th day, I noticed the lesions on my skin have dried out n died. Will continue this for I guess one month and keep you updated.

False Ringworm

Alex (Latin America) on 12/14/2020

You have seen my posts all over the Ringworm topic. For years I tried everything: Bleach, baking soda, nail polish, garlic, coconut oil, soap, undecilenic acid + zinc, miconazole nitrate, borax, hydrogen peroxide, ashes, iodine, salt, turmeric, petroleum jelly, vinegar, and several creams prescribed by doctors.

But now I'm pleased to inform you that after years of suffering, I finally figured out what the problem was.

Several events lead me to the answer: It was not ringworm, it was an allergy.

Many years ago, I bought some menstrual pads (Equate, Night Time) and immediately after putting them on, I felt like my genitals were on fire. I was sure the pad was contaminated and that whatever fungi present had also spread to my right hand.

Ever since, I can no longer wear menstrual pads, creams, oils, or soap around the genital area. I can't even use regular toilet paper or I have a flare up. Sunlight also affects me, even if I don’t get sun in my hands, the eczema appears on each of the same places.

As soon as the allergy strikes, my hand gets a rash too. A rash in circles, just like ringworm.

Throughout the years I went to see many doctors, including an allergist, and nobody was able to diagnose the problem.

What helps is muscle relaxation of any kind, supposedly reducing stress helps but I guess I’ve never been relaxed enough for that. I hope this information is useful to somebody. Best of luck to everyone who is suffering from this.

Pennies in Apple Cider Vinegar for Ringworm

Pennies in ACV remedy:

I tried this the last time I got ringworm and it didn't work at ALL! Not only that, it burned my skin horribly and made it worse. Wish I'd never tried it. And I am not ACV sensitive, by the way. What finally cleared it up was simple OTC athlete's foot cream. You can find it at most dollar stores and all pharmacies. Gone in 4 days, no pain, no scars.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Turmeric for Ringworm

ACV and turmeric cured my ringworm

After using Lotrimin for ringworm for 2 weeks, I was desperate to try something else as it wasn’t working. I came here and saw to use ACV. It was dried up within a day. It was still visible, but it was obvious it was on its way out. It continued to dry and disappear from that point on. I mixed it with turmeric to make a paste. Covered it with a bandaid for one hour. That was it. I didn’t have to treat it again.

ACV for Ringworm

Michelle (Omaha) on 12/11/2017

We adopted a kitten a few weeks ago, and about 2-3 days ago I noticed ringworm on my arm. I had read about using ACV but also used Lotrimin. The only thing between the two that seems to be working and providing itch relief is ACV. Whenever I've treated the spots with the Lotrimin they just seem to swell and still itch. Cleaning with soap and then swabbing with ACV seems to dry out the spots immediately. I've heard Lotrimin can take up to 8 weeks to totally heal, which sounds miserable. Our kitten will be quarantined for a week (until the vet says she won't be contagious), I'm trying to disinfect our home using a clorox spray for furniture then doing laundry and vacuuming. No way to know if its working until none of us is ringworm free for a while. Any tips on home cleaning and prevention?

Apple Cider Vinegar for Ringworm

Gus Amongus (Asheville, Nc) on 11/17/2017

ACV is clearing my ringworm, thank heavens. I started putting it on undiluted, using cotton balls, and sometimes soaking a thick doubled piece of toilet paper and placing it over the area for 30 seconds or so. I would both blot the cotton balls on the rash and surrounding areas, and also I would hold the soaked cotton ball on the itchy area for a few seconds until it stung a little. I had a failed attempt with the cream...the ringworm went away almost, but then came back worse even before the cream treatment was over.

Once I started the ACV 3-5 times a day, I could tell right away it was helping. At first, the ACV made the rash start to spread with new dots appearing in the vicinity, which freaked me out, but I just kept going...hitting the new spots hard with the ACV and being vigilant. It took 7 or 8 days to really feel certain I was probably on top of the situation. I cut back to 3 times a day or if I felt an itch, i'd hit it. My skin got fairly irritated and then rough and flaky, but I kept going. After the 10th day I noticed it was hardly ever itching anymore and slowly fading. It's been 12 days now and it's DEFINITELY faded a lot, though still discolored and rough feeling. It took a while, and it's still not gone...but I feel I see light at the end of the tunnel.

I've suffered with ringworm my whole life, fairly chronically the last 6 years when I'm active at all... feet and jockitch. ACV is clearing up my feet also, but my toenails are still a big work in progress. I've gotten 3 "ringworms" on other places (leg, arm, neck) in isolated incidents over the past 4 years...but this recent one on my neck was the worst ever, motivating me to attack it harder. Anyway... just wanted to add another positive review and method for ACV...it is really working, when the cream definitely didn't.

Apple Cider Vinegar, MMS for Ringworm

Kk (Los Angeles) on 10/02/2017

Ringworm: ACV has also worked well for me in combination with MMS foot baths. I had it on my feet. Use 20 drops MMS to 20 drops citric acid, wait until it mixes properly (dark brown) and then add it to a bowl you can soak your foot in, once a day for 10-15 minutes. Try to get the water hot, without burning yourself of course. If you have it on your body you can also take a bath (use 30 drops instead). Or you can apply it as a spray (use 10 drops in 1/2 cup water). For very severe cases where nothing seems to be working MMS might just come in very handy. It's very affordable.

ALWAYS use MMS diluted with water, never by itself.
