Need Help for Son With Lingering Infection Doctors Can't Diagnose

Melanie (NS) on 11/17/2022

Hi,

My son has had an awful cough for 1 week now. But has had a fever for more than 2 weeks now. He's also really tired he says and not much of an appetite for a few weeks now. He's been to hospital a few times now but they don't know the source of the infection. They have him on antibiotics but he's not getting better. Maybe it's helped with appetite a bit. I'm really worried it's leukemia. Can I do the baking soda and lemon juice with him? I also ordered the h202 food grade. That won't be here for a few days. Any suggestions? We are going back to the hospital prob tomorrow if he's not better. I'm hoping to help him, so he doesn't have to do chemo or radiation if he does have leukemia. I've seen people cure cancer in a few weeks before they were to start treatments so any help would be great.

Thanks.

Medical Mystery - Please Help

Deirdre (CT) on 09/25/2020

Hello everyone, here's a medical mystery for you that I would love help solving. No diagnosis after 10 years!

A friend of mine, Barry, male in his mid-fifties, has the following symptoms for a decade. He is very healthy and tried lots of supplements and dietary changes to heal the symptoms. He stays well hydrated and eats very healthily. The only thing that keeps the symptoms in check is a serious workout every day where he sweats. He says he is in perfect health, however if he stops working out and sweating, the following symptoms start up right away and get worse within a week,

They are:

Excessive Sweat in Armpits and Forehead
Sensation of Oily Skin, especially forehead
Mucus that affects breathing and builds up overnight
Watery eyes
Hair gets considerably drier
Gums bleed
Roof of mouth has a patch of sensitivity that appears over and over again (not a canker sore).

He is on thyroid medication (no thyroid) for the past 2 years and currently takes the following supplements:

Copper and Zinc
Magnesium
Turmeric
Vitamin D

Over the past 10 years, he has tried:
Vitamin C Therapy
Acupuncture and Chinese herbs
Juicing
Fasting
Keto

If anyone can offer any ideas that I can send him, would appreciate it! Thank you so much!

Use a Calendar Method for Mystery Ailments

Alelen (Poland) on 12/20/2018
5 out of 5 stars

First the diagnosis. Calendar.

Often suffering from ailments for a long time, we can not determine what is the main reason for our health problems. Reading a detective's book, I found a valuable clue: When you do not know what's going on, write a calendar. I applied this advice effectively to determine what I am.

Two calendars were created in this way. On one of them I wrote years from my birth, and slowly making memories, I wrote down my ailments and situations, small and large, and the circumstances of these situations. Not everything can be recalled immediately. Sometimes they can suggest something to their loved ones. The creation of this calendar took a while. but it has led me to the trail, and to the realization of various matters of relevance to my health, which I have not previously linked, that may be the cause.

The second calendar, I started to write on a regular basis. At the end of the day. I wrote how I felt and what I ate, as well as circumstances (in general). Often seeing the main problem with health, we do not notice any details that are also important in the diagnosis.

This gives you the opportunity to see the possible causes and consequences and the frequency of problems in time.

It gives the possibility of more effective use of the funds and reduces mistakes in, for example, supplementation or used herbs.

I apologize for any mistakes in the text. I'm using a google translator

Contaminated Bone Graft and Resulting Illness

Kim (California) on 10/14/2018

Contaminated Bone Graft and esulting Aggressive Illness

Dear EC,

I hope that this reaches someone as I am in desperate need of advice and have nowhere to turn.

I have been following Ted’s recovery and hope he is doing much better.

My problem is very unusual, at least I have never found anyone else with my symptoms. Some of it is the same as other’s with Lyme disease, Morgellons, but the rest is not. To make a very long story short, In approximately 2012, the hair-like threads that had been growing through my skin, especially my neck, since about 2008, were identified as Nylon 54. A toxicologist told me I have had multiple exposures, but the nylon threads came from a bone graft that was used after a tooth extraction. These threads when visible at the surface, are machine-like, always equal spacing between each stitch. The bone graft disappeared from the tooth socket and migrated elsewhere. Some of the graft was found in my mouth and was identified as part of the missing graft. That is how it was found and analyzed. It was then that I was told it was cadaver and had come from an 80 year old Japanese male. This was also the same time when Borrelia Burgdorrfi was found, which at the time, I did not know was Lyme disease. There were also many other bacteria found in this and other samples taken from my mouth at that same time.

Over the years I have sought medical help, too many times to count, spent every dime I had and got nowhere. I did recently (March 2018) have 29 days of IV Rocephin, which I feel just made me worse and seemed accelerate my symptoms. To this date I still continue to just watch this “disease”progress and I am in such an advanced stage I don’t know if I will survive one more winter, unless my miracle arrives.

I wish there were a check-off list for symptoms, because, I hardly have the energy to even type and it is too painful to sit here much longer. The worst parts have been the nylon threads that have morphed into thicker, hardening strands that are twisted and wrapped around my throat. Some are loops that intertwine and lock into each other. These are caught up in a net-like fiber that have hook ends. I can feel tiny disc shaped things and corkscrew shapes just beneath the surface of my skin. The threads cut into my throat and I feel like I am being strangled. One of these “things” came out of my neck and was also sent to be analyzed. There are photos and reports on this stuff, if anyone is interested in looking at them. These things release some kind of chemical that cause the most horrific anxiety (the word does not do it justice), that if you cannot find a way to stop it, dying starts to look like a much needed vacation. But, I don’t want to die, I want to live, but free of this horrific nightmare that never ends. It is wrapped around all my extremities and is cutting off my circulation and now carving channels into my skin. It attacked my heart and I now have a pacemaker. I was told the damage was caused by a “ virus”. I have lost all of my upper molars, I can feel the thread wrapped around the top of my teeth. I had beautiful teeth.

I am 61, have lost so many years... My weight, most of my adult life was about 155, I am appx 5’5”, I now I weigh 112. I cannot absorb anything I eat and I do eat enough. It has the characteristics of a parasite, is always active at night and has infected my digestive system. I am extremely sensitive to electromagnetic fields.

My skin hangs on my arms and is rifled with the nylon. I look emaciated and compared to just 5 years ago, I look like I have aged 20 years. I have lost (or so I thought) patches of my hair, mostly in the front.. What I found was that my hair was growing inward under my scalp and down into my neck. It wraps around my ears and grows down into my neck from there. The threads are wrapped around each upper and lower eyelid and are coiled up under the upper eyelid. They have on several occasions grown into my eyes. The pain is excruciating..

There is a bright white fibrous material that has grown everywhere. It has twisted my spine. And is hardening inside my neck. How can a person be this ill, but no conventional doctor can see it. Neither can any type of imaging. I have not been treated very well by the medical establishment.

I see these same fibers in my husbands skin, but he has very nice skin, not dry like mine, so it is not as noticeable. His back has a herniated disc, L3, he has developed renal disease, and is in excruciating pain. He is 65 and was in very good health his entire life, up until about 2 years ago. I try to tell him it is probably the same or similar to my problem, at least some of it, but he is in denial. He has lost over 30 pounds.

This stuff sometimes shows up in photographs, but not in bright light, to the naked eye.

Both my husband and I are in serious trouble. Our dog is infected, too. To be in such a position, is, well, unheard of. I never imagined being so seriously ill and not have anyone to turn to.

I have no idea whether Ted has recovered and is answering emails. I was sure he would know what to do.

I have been following Ted’s protocols for Lyme, Lupus, Morgellons, systemic fungus, for about 3 mos. I will be adding the Myristin, today, maybe that will make the difference. I have not seen any improvement, as of yet. That is why I am reaching out, hoping someone can advise me.

What I am currently taking:

ACV Baking Soda 2X Day

Vitamin B Complex

Vitamin B3 Niacinamide

Serrapeptase 60,000 units 3 X day

Multivitamin

Compounded hormone cream

Diatomaceous Earth 1 TB every day

Borax â…› tsp with 1 capful H2o2 in a liter of water each day

Tetrasodium EDTA, in 1 pint of water, I take 20 drops 3 X Day and use it for soap

*I am not taking the Methylene Blue 0.1%, as I take medications that will interact with it. I understand it is an MAOI Inhibitor, correct? Is there a substitute that is not?

Potassium Chloride

Furosemide

I take a BP med because of pacemaker, a beta blocker and an opiod pain med for a back injury, (very little).

I also take a medication for ADD, that I am in process of weaning off, along with the pain medication.

I have access to a FIR Sauna, and hopefully soon to a salt water hot tub or a jaquzzi. Will these things help? Would laser remove it?

Would Nystatin be good?

Is there a correct dosage I should take of Myristin. I just received it in the mail today.

Is there any type of imaging that can “see” this stuff?

Thank You for any hope you may have to offer. Kim

Mystery Diagnosis - Joint and Muscle Pain After Nerve Surgery

Stacy N (Wichita, Ks) on 12/11/2015

I had neck surgery for C2 fusion and occipital nerve surgery. Within 3 days of surgery, I had a huge goiter on the incision which the doctors said was nothing to worry about. Within 2 days of that, a rash developed right under my chin, right above the incision. The rash lasted for 3 days and then all of the joint pain, swelling, muscle pain, skin peeling on my scalp and face, mouth sores, fatigue started in. I have had a lot of blood tests done and they all come back negative or normal. They want to put me in the fibromyalgia box and in my gut I just feel that is not what is going on. Being on high doses of prednisone fully take the pain away 100% and Norco 10's are the only thing that takes the pain down a few notches.

Going on over 9 months of 24/7 pain except for the two times I was on prednisone for 1 1/2 weeks each time. They say I do not have RA or any inflammatory markers however my fingers, knees and toes swell up. My rings won't fit and I can barely make a fist because of the swelling. When my knees swell, they are red and warm to the touch. Any ideas or suggestions for me to look into?

Mystery Diagnosis - 10 Years of Feeling Poorly

Chookie (Uk) on 11/29/2015

10 years of feeling poorly

Hello,

Can you help? As you can see from my post I'm trying to get to the bottom of what is making me feel so terrible with the help of my GP and through self help.

About me

Female, 40,1 child, live in the UK.

Main symptoms:

  • Tachycardia - taking propranolol daily
  • Breathless - on exertion
  • Pressure feeling on chest
  • Vertigo - turning head = nausea/dizzy
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea - minor
  • Hot flushes - lasts approx 1 minute
  • Blurred vision - not doubled
  • Fuzzy head - slight headache all day
  • Memory loss - short & long
  • Cognitive decline - word finding, left & right, confusion, day dream feeling, brain fog
  • Weakness - legs/arms
  • Fatigue - wavers, some days better than others
  • Tremor - left side, goes when sitting down

Other minor symptoms:

  • Constipation
  • Coated white tongue - sometimes swollen/teeth marks
  • Fleeting aches & pains
  • Dry skin
  • Dry mouth
  • Phlegm - constant back of throat, no cough
  • Flu like - end of the day only, better the day after

Background Info:

Felt generally unwell for the past 10 years. Very suddenly I was fighting against something invisible holding me back. My legs were like lead with shackled ankles as I walked up a small incline later that day.

Previously suffered from 3 viral infections per year plus pneumonia, bronchitis, pleurisy

Tests & Diagnosis

Bloods - full panel, follicle stimulating hormone, iron, B12, autoimmune and thyroid but they are all normal. Iron wavered lately but now perfect.

ECG 2014 = normal

Previous diagnosis

Fibromyalgia - but I have no pain

CFS/M.E - I feel very different to others who have it

Abnormal range of female hormone levels - Prostap injections to stop ovaries and add back Livial HRT for 1 year = symptoms persisted throughout so treatment stopped.

November 2015

Very approachable GP carried out tests after I mentioned possible autoimmune disease, low iron, lack of B12

GP listened to heart rate = prescribed Propranolol beta blockers 1 per day for 1 month

ECG in 1 months time

Referral to specialist if GP 'cannot make me feel better himself'.

Self Help supplements

Tried:

  • HCL - acidity regulation & constipation but made urine sting
  • Mastic Resin - for possible H.Pylori but made urine sting

Taken everyday:

  • B complex
  • Trace Minerals brand Ionic Zinc
  • Selenium - 6 x whole brazil nuts
  • Swanson 5000, iu Vitamin D - 3

Once a week:

  • Iodine painting x 3 inch square

Occasional:

  • Probiotic capsules
  • Magnesium baths

Diet:

  • Vegetarian
  • Nutribullet blasts everyday
  • Coconut & oat milk
  • Fruits (lots of bananas) & vegetables (raw)
  • Oats & rye
  • Seeds, nuts & dry fruit (dates)
  • Brown rice, sweet potatoes
  • Lately been eating awfully - refined carbs & sugar cravings again for bread & cake.

Any ideas?

Is there something I can try such as candida protocol?

Where would I start with this...please if you can respond with the exact info... I am dyspraxic and I find it hard to trawl through so many posts that go off topic etc...

Thank you so much in advance for your help :)

Mystery Diagnosis - Sensation of Clogging in Temples - Painless

Mrs A. (London, Uk) on 07/20/2015

Some weeks ago there was a plea for a diagnosis in respect of "a clogging sensation in the temples, as if cling-film were tightly wrapped round the head" (though entirely pain free) - a sensation that had already persisted for a number of years. So far as I know the only response was from a fellow-sufferer.

I too am desperate to find the cause of this mysterious malady. Could it be the sinuses? But the sinuses are nowhere near the temples.

Pain-free it may be, but desperately debilitating, and there seems no end in sight. Is there perhaps a newcomer to this site, who missed the first query but who knows the answer?

Unusual Sensation on the Left Side of my Head

Susan (Wv) on 06/17/2015

For the last couple days, I've been feeling a sensation in the left side of my head about four inches above my left eye just above the hair line. No pain. Just feels like drops of cold water falling on my head. Usually lasts a few minutes, not constant, I feel it every minute or so. Is this a symptom of anything or is it maybe nerves? Age 80. I only take 100 ct. Thyroid and vitamin d3,2000, and 500 ct of calcium. Don't take anything else. Any ideas on this. Thanks.

Mysterious Ailments in 6 Year Old Daughter

Sugar's Mom (Utah) on 05/25/2015

I need some guidance. My 6 year old daughter has been a medical mystery since birth. As a baby she had some food sensitivities which she seems to have outgrown.

Her current ailment is about her reaction to illnesses. Any minor illness (UTI, ear infection, common cold) will be followed by excruciating back pain (she points to her spine) for a few days. It is bad enough she will be up all night and the pain is not relieved by Tylenol, heated rice bags, or anything else.

She also responds to illnesses by breaking out in hives. They can last for a few days to weeks. She is pretty clear in the mornings, but by evening they are all over her. Her feet will swell and hurt so much she has to crawl. The hives started when she was 2 years old and have been persistent. The back pain is new. Often the two will be combined.

We have taken her to MDs, specialists, and even my ND. No one seems to have an answer for her. I'm concerned that we may be overlooking a serious condition, but I'm not sure where to even turn at this point.

She has been tested for allergies (negative), Lyme (negative, but I have it), and has had all normal bloodwork other than it shows inflammation.

Any direction on where to search next would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Help Requested for Husband's Mystery Diagnosis

Robynrenee (Austin, Tx) on 03/23/2015

Greetings EarthClinic Family,

I read Bill's book on candida and my life is slowly changing. I feel better in many ways even though I'm still undergoing the treatment and into my 5th month. I take it seriously and do the ACV, iodine + baking soda, turpentine and borax powder water, avoid bad foods. My stomach is flat and I've lost 7 lbs (I weigh 107 and am 52.) My complexion is much better although I had a severe breakout recently (4th month), I think I may have had a delayed herxheimer effect or was slow in getting rid of the systemic fungus. Does that make sense?

My new husband, a very handsome 55-year-old who looks 40, is not good internally. I've looked online to find what he may have and cannot locate except he could have fibromyalgia (I don't believe that's it which is why I'm throwing this email out to you guys, and Bill and Ted, of course.)

He's bloated often, except when he wakes up in morning. He's got acute anxiety--let's people know how wrong they are on the phone, and often asks for "their supervisor." (He's really a gentleman inside but gets this way often.) He volunteers as a prison minister on Thursdays for four hours and has been doing this for 10 years. He's a cyclist and works out at gym (although he's slacked off a bit lately.) He does not work for anyone but works a tad (spinning his wheels making occasional loans.) I don't think he's capable of working a real job for anyone else. He'd be miserable.

Here's his symptoms: extreme sensitivity to many things such as light, sound and smell. He can smell something bad in the fridge while its in a closed drawer and must have "just gone" bad. I cannot really smell it even close up! We clean out fridge every Monday.

He is sensitive to others and gets feelings hurt easily. He gets acid reflux and gas occasionally (unsure if this has anything to do with what he's got, but I'm listing everything I can in case any of you have any ideas on what this could be. He thinks he needs an anti-depressant (I do too sometimes) or some type of anti-anxiety medication. He has to maintain order in house or gets stressed. He's almost a hoarder but not--treasures many things in general and saves them. He brushes teeth and drinks those protein shakes but has a film on his tongue and uses a scraper to remove the film (he swears it's just the "shake.") He's got breath issues sometimes too. Eats "okay"--definitely wouldn't work with my candida so we rarely eat together.

Please someone help or his anxiety could destroy us. He gets angry and disrespects me often, speaking down at me. It will destroy our relationship and we're just 10 months in. If you have any ideas I would appreciate your input.
