I got a horrible boil on my buttock about two months ago and it was the most painful thing ever! so I thought it would go away and it did not instead it got larger and larger till it was as big as a golf ball and then larger than that the next day. So I waited but finally went to the ER and they told me it was staph and gave me vankamycin because my fever was 103.5 and I was septic by this time and they sent me home! so I got worse overnight and went to the ER then next day at another hospital and so they did surgery on it and drained it and cut deep into it. Gave me more antibiotics and sent me home and it finally started to heal but I have a horrendous scar like a bullet wound. So I thought I was done with that but exactly three weeks later when I began my period, surprise another one on my leg, in the muscle! So I went straight and had it lanced, another lovely scar! it would not heal for weeks until I found this site and ordered myself some Turmeric capsules and powder, then I started taking the capsules and put turmeric powder just one teaspoon boiled down in water on the wound and bandaging it each night. In the meantime I washed down everything in the house in scalding water, all my clothes, wiped down mattresses with antibacterial, then put the bactriban antibiotic stuff in my nose everyday for 8 days and also I was on antibiotics and then just to be safe I went to an Infectious Disease doctor who probed the wound and made it bleed and caused me great agony!

but he gave me so much information about this staph condition that I am so thankful to have seen him, however the cure for me has been THIS WEBSITE! Turmeric not only is helping with my staph it is making me feel better overall, not sure why but I can only speak for myself, so then I found another website that said turmeric is a mood enhancer and works for some people who are depressed so that must be it. I feel great!

now I have gotten two other boils after the leg boil healed with turmeric and as soon as they come up I put turmeric on them and they burst and heal. SO it worked 100% for me with some added benefits being my mood is much much better and I feel good.

Thanks
Many Blessings to you all!
Kimmy

UPDATE: Yesterday I was able to take 1 tsp turmeric mixed with 1 tsp coconut oil in hot water twice. I also put a bandage on with turmeric, coconut oil, and raw honey mixed into a paste. This morning it felt 90 percent better!! The surrounding pain was gone. The lymph node in my groin no longer hurt and the boil had burst and drained. This afternoon a hard core came out and it is now healing.

THIS REMEDY DEFINITELY WORKS!!!

The point of my previous post was the importance of maintenance and prevention.

My daughter started out with a carbuncle of boils which the docotor i went and took her to see, put on an anesthetic to numb the area and it didn't work so they gave her an injection anesthetic and it still didn't work so they were cutting her open while the anesthetic wasn't obviously working, my poor daughter was screaming in a way i never had seen a child scream my mother inlaw was with me and we were crying so had to see a child in pain after half an hour of my daughter screaming, the doctor had then said and i quote "i don't know what i am doing! you are going to have to take her to the hospital to get it scrapped!" i was shell shocked, i took to the hospital and they had told me that everything was ok, so i went home and they gave me a phone call two days later saying i had to come back down to change her medication because she had contracted the golden staph infection, so i went back and waited three hours before someone would see her, we got the new prescription and went back home then not even twenty-four hours later the hospital called me again and once again i headed back to the hospital another three hours later they gave her new medication, and then not even twenty-four hours after that i had another phone call saying she had the MRSA virus and that i had to come back down to the hospital when i got there they had explained to me that she will have the boils for three years and that the infection will stay in her system for the rest of her life he also explained that it is very similar to the aids virus, since that day i have been back again to the hospital to have them say it is not the hospitals fault it is caused from our family which is a load of bull....long story short - I found your website and tried the Turmeric (500 mg capsules 4 times per day). This WORKED WONDERS. Thank you all so much for website. My daughter thanks you as well.

I am 47 year old female. 2 years ago, I was very fit and healthy. I took up employment as a care assistant in a residential home for the elderly. 6 months into my employment and elderly lady was admitted to the home from hospital with MRSA. Since then, I have had repeated urine infections, boils the size of large grapes and persistent chest and sinus infection producing green sputum. Four different courses of antibiotics have not helped. Approximately 6 months ago, I discovered a lump in my groin, which has grown consierably in size. Most of the time I am tired and lethargic sometimes even a shower is too much trouble. On Friday of last week I came across your website and tried turmeric. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW WELL IT WORKED (okay, maybe you might). I can already see a major difference in the lump and some secondary boils have drained. I was taking antibiotics at the time, but it seems like turmeric sped their process rapidly when working with them. Thanks so much everyone. I think I may have finally found peace..

I was diagnosed with MRSA last month and had to take Bactrim and my infection specialist suggested decolonising the staph/MRSA bacteria from skin after the treamtment. The boils went away and I felt good, but within two days of competing antiboitic treatment, I got a boil on my buttocks and I started reading earth clinic's natural cure and about turmeric. I started last week and with in 3 days, the MRSA boils were gone. I am taking 3 times half spoon turemric powder with warm water mixed with little ground pepper.

Thanks earth clinic and all those who contributed their knowledge. I am supposed to go to my doctor next month and I will tell him about this home remedy. The one question I have is about how long do I have to take turmeric after all the boils are gone? Also, is there any cure for MRSA?

I get staph boils on my face which is EXTREMELY embarrassing but I'm lucky that a miracle medicine exists which gets rid of them fast. No medicine cures any ailment as quickly as turmeric gets rid of staph boils. For boils that haven't yet come to a head, I normally take a large quantity of turmeric upon noticing a boil.. about 2 tbsp a day mixed in decaf green tea. The results are clear the next morning. If I'm lucky enough to have noticed the boil early in its formation, it will disappear overnight. If not, it still improves ridiculously fast.

AS FOR boils that have come to a head somewhat but haven't drained completely, I apply turmeric paste topically to the boil and cover it with a band-aid. When I pull it off the next day, the boil is drained. I know topical application is not recommended but TRY IT for boils that have come to a head and are still leaking and visibly big.

I suggest mixing a couple sprinkles of black pepper in with your 1 or 2 teaspoons of turmeric in warm water. Since the bioavailability of turmeric orally is naturally low, the black pepper increases absorption by a TREMENDOUS amount. ______ This was just my 2 cents. This website has helped me tremendously.

I found to be MRSA positive in Sep 2008. I was getting boils mainly in my butt area.Tt spread to my eyes and then nose. Not to mention the pain of these boils. Mine was resitant to many antibiotics. First boil was in Sep, 2008 then in Oct,then Nov. My doctor was changing antiobiotics all the time and was saying that it shouldn't reoccur like this. Antibiotics used to work but then they reoccur when I stop antibiotics My blood tests showed that I was anemic. I tried changing soaps, cleaning clothes more frequently, use hibiclens etc. Nothing helped.

Then I came to know about turmeric which my wife read in earth clinic and I started taking daily in the night quarter spoon. I also started taking probiotic supplement along with as I read turmeric might upset stomach. I started taking it since Dec 25th and I never had any reoccurence since then. I stopped taking turmeric in Feb 2009 but in March again I got some signs of it (feverish but no boils) Then I started taking turmeric again. Since then no more boils.

I read more on turmeric and it seems it is anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and it helps body in many ways in addition to killing this MRSA. Please get good turmeric (Can be easily found in indian stores) and take daily along with probiotic supplement. I also read that it attacks when your immunity is low. So also start eating well including lots of fruits and vegetables.

First, I'd like to say 'Thank goodness for this website!' I wish I could reach through the internet and hug the people who created it, as well as all the visitors who shared their stories. I am embarrassed to admit that I used to think 'folk remedies' were useless. Desperation drove me to this site, and the information provided saved me so much worry, pain, and money that I wanted to share my story, too.

My husband and I were diagnosed with MRSA simultaneously. I don't know where we picked it up. Neither of us had been near a hospital, or an infected person (that we know of); we are both healthy, eat well, exercise. The infection caused a large boil on my husband's thigh. I developed three boils - one on the top of my right thigh, another on my lower left buttock, and one in my genital area. They were extremely painful. Our family doctor took cultures from the boils and sent them to a lab. In the meantime, he suspected a staph infection so he prescribed the antibiotic Bactrim. He advised us to soak the boils in warm water and keep them covered. I followed his instructions, but the boils grew larger and more painful, particularly the one in my genital area. I made an appointment to see my ob/gyn. My ob/gyn was shocked by the size and color of the boils. She said the genital one was very large and worrisome. She injected me with a numbing agent (and my God, that hurt so much - I am not scared of needles and am pretty tolerant of pain - but that shot was excruciating) and she sliced open the genital boil. She worked at it for several minutes, but could not get it to drain very much. Finally, she stopped and said she had done everything she could for now. She told me to go home and soak in warm water and try to get the boil to drain more. And she looked at the other two boils. She wanted to drain the one on my thigh as well but I was already bleeding and in pain so she told me to come back in a week. She also mentioned MRSA as a possible cause and said it was a 'nasty bug'. I have a 3 year old toddler at home and asked about possible transference of the virus. She said it was unlikely, but I mentioned that both my husband and I had it so obviously it had spread from one of us to the other. Just one more thing to worry about....

I went home, bleeding all the while from the cut, and set about doing what the doctors had told me. I soaked the boils constantly in a sitz bath, and I pressed warm washcloths gently on them. I am a neat freak so my house was already pretty spotless but I cleaned it top to bottom again, and washed all of our sheets and towels with hot water and bleach. I also washed our clothes in hot water. I was extremely careful in handling my child's food / drink and toys. (Luckily, it doesn't look like he's caught it!)

Despite soaking, and taking Bactrim twice a day as prescribed, the boils did not shrink. The genital boil that had been sliced open also did not drain. All the boils felt as though rocks were beneath the skin. They were that solid. And they were very inflamed / bruised in appearance.

Our family doctor called and confirmed that we did have MRSA. He said that, luckily, our strain was most susceptible to Bactrim so we should continue our prescription for another week. When I mentioned the boils were still present, he said I should go to the ER and have them lanced and drained. I said the ob/gyn had already lanced the one boil, but it hadn't drained. He said 'go to the ER'.

Well, at this point, the last thing I wanted to do was be sliced open again, and to what end? It hadn't worked before. The soaking hadn't worked either. I'd been doing that for over a week. Meanwhile, I had been searching the internet and found this website. I read most of the turmeric posts. I couldn't believe any of it, not really. I thought - If it's so simple, if this turmeric can really cure boils, why don't doctors tell people? Why not tell patients about turmeric before cutting them open?

So I didn't really believe the site, but I was desperate and in terrible pain. The boils were not getting better in the least. I really want to emphasize that part. They were not getting better at all. So my husband went and bought turmeric. I took some before I went to bed that night.

The next morning, I woke up and removed my bandages in the shower (I kept the buttock and thigh boils covered with gauze.) Each piece of gauze had drainage on it. I'm not kidding. This had never happened before. The genital boil was still there, of course, but for the first time, it felt less solid / immovable. I immediately took some more turmeric.

The next morning, again, more drainage. And now the boils were just a smidge smaller. They were shrinking! They weren't gone by any means, but they were on their way. And now it is eight days since I took Turmeric. All of the boils are essentially gone. There is still an almost imperceptible 'something' in two of the boils, but the one on my buttock is completely gone. The skin is still discolored, however. It looks like a fading bruise.

Turmeric saved me. If I ever have the misfortune to get one of those horrid boils again, I will start taking Turmeric the moment it appears. I think my boils took a long time (relatively) to go away once I took Turmeric because they were so inflamed to begin with, - if I had started sooner, they never would have grown so large.

No, Turmeric does not cure MRSA. For that, I took my antibiotic. But Turmeric does cure the symptoms of MRSA. The only side effect I experienced was a very slight flushed feeling when I took the first dose. It never happened again. If you are a skeptic, trust me - Turmeric works. I was once like you. I almost ended up in the ER. Thanks to this website, I avoided the pain and expense of the emergency room. I am so grateful for this site. And I will be returning to learn more about natural remedies.

Good luck to everyone.

WOW!!! I posted yesterday my question about a boil bursting open inside my body... Well here is an update regarding the boil under my armpit. After reading all of the responses and posts, I also learn in this wonderful site about the Apple Cider Vinegar and its effects to stabilize the PH in the body. Yesterday, I was having such pain in my armpit to the point that I couldn't put my arm down cause of the pain, I took 2 table spoons of Wholefood's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar stright up, and an 8oz-glass of water with 2 table spoons of vinegar. I sipped the water-vinegar solution slowly and almost finished in about 1 hr. This morning (2/6/2009), I was pain free, and the redness is going away, I'm at work now writing this message (2:47 pm) and still sipping on my water-vinegar solution and my turmeric. All I have to say is that my pain is gone and that I'm very hopeful that this thing goes away.

Please change my previous post to a YEA! I have been spreading the word about this great site to all of the people I know...

Thanks!

Amanda, I also have suffered with MRSA boils and subsequent lethargy (to put it lightly...) I agree the Earth Clinic site and turmeric cure are angelic! As for your query regarding energy - I discovered the Raw Paleo Diet about a year ago and found it extraordinarily invigorating. I had previously been vegetarian for 10 years and the RPG appeared very extreme when I first read about it. However, at that time I was in need of something extreme and I am so pleased to have tried it because when I am strict with the diet I feel on top of the world and that was something I had thought I would never experience again since a long time. I also use the turmeric cure for the boils. However, I use about an inch or so of fresh turmeric per dose - it tastes wonderful and may be more potent. My favourite is with a salad of papaya, fresh coriander and lemon juice (lemon/lime and papaya are a match made in heaven). The RPG diet varies person to person. You must find what works for you - sashimi, oysters or steak tatare are obvious examples. The general health benefits (and energy) are extraordinary. There is some great information about the Raw Paleo Diet from someone called the Raw Paleo Guy (RPG) at allexperts.

Tumeric for MRSA infection:

I have a 16 year old daughter who gets these abscess on the back of her thighs and privates. Its terrible because its painful and she misses days of school. I didn't want to take her to the doctor for yet another round of antibiotics which I believe is the cause of this problem. I did some research on abscess and came accross the MRSA infection. This sounded like what was going on. I come to earth clinic for various things but when I saw the number of YEAs for the tumeric I was so relieved. I ran out (it was almost midnight and bought tumeric. I gave her some right away and have been giving more every 4 to six hours. We first noticed there was no more pain and she could sleep then the one abscess quickly rose to the top and drained and the one that was slowly swelling up quickly went down and is now draining quietly and painlessly. She did miss the entire week of school over this but we know what to do for next time. I also read here that many women say outbreaks came when their cycles began...she did start her cycle. So now we know the trigger. I've tried many remedies here with much success but I had to write about this one. Thank you earth clinic and all of you who share their stories.

Two people in my family got MRSA. The rest of us took turmeric daily and never had a first occurrence of MRSA. We continue to take it daily.

Recently, A niece of mine had a very large and infected boil misdiagnosed as a spider bite. The doctor sliced off the top of the boil and the turmeric I had her take just before going to the doctor came gushing out of the boil. The doctor was amazed for some of the turmeric (orange-yellow) came out with the fluid. The wound healed quickly even though it had been sliced open. Turmeric is amazing!!

Turmeric worked for me!! Thanks to all the feedback I am able to get on with my holidays! I would not have so readily tried it as I was a big skeptic. I have been suffering from reoccurring staph infections since the beginning of the year. They are incredibly painful and I tend to get flu like symptoms along with them. I have had one the top of my va jay jay (the size of a cocktail winnie), my rectum (thought it was hemorrhoid at first), behind my ear (the size of a silly puddy container), a sty in my eye and my latest which began on Monday on my vaginal opening swelling both on the outside and the inside this one is by far the worse. I woke up this morning and was barely able to move much less walk. It hurt just to roll over. I was in dire need of relief being so close to Christmas then I found this website. I knew the drill , based on the one behind my ear it was going to take a full week before it popped and then about 2 days to fully drain. How can I wait until Monday for it to pop I need to go shopping. I was desperate but did not allow myself to believe that the testaments would really work for me. But I went to whole foods immediately and bought the turmeric powder, garlic pills, lysine and probotics ( I'm prone to yeast infections and constipation which I read is a side effect of turmeric). I took the half glass of warm water with 2 tsps of turmeric powder and also applied a cotton pad with antibiotic pain relieving ointment mixed with turmeric powder. To be honest the boil was in such a tender spot that it was painful just to get the paste rubbed in good. I left it for two and half hours and then had to look because it was hurting every time I moved , even a cough hurt. I could not believe my eyes when I removed it, I saw the spot were it would open and it looked much further along than I expected. I took a sterile needle a barely scraped the spot which immediately began to drain. It so surprised me I was not prepared to collect the pus and I pray that I have not spread it somewhere else. In my past boils it was very painful to burst and then it took a few hours to actually really produce the puss. This was almost pain free. The majority of the puss came out right away. I am still in shock. I was able to put a band-aid with the neosporin and actually go shopping for about two hours. About 6 and half hours after my one and only dose of the internal and external treatment it was raring to drain some more. It is now mostly drained which I would have expected to have taken at least 24 more hours once it popped. I can go to bed and rest knowing that I will be able to function tomorrow, this has truly saved my Christmas. Thank You! to everyone who shared their story before me, it's the best present I could have ever gotten. Now I am on a hunt to stop the boils from ever starting -- Happy Holidays hope this will be beneficial for someone else.

Tumeric - for MRSA

Herbs to the Rescue! Tumeric does it again. Just like you said, in three days the PAINFUL eruptions were gone. That's right. It began to work immediately and in 3 days the whole thing was gone! Needless to say we were impressed Here is a tip for others. We put our tumeric into capsules since we did not like the taste of it in water. Took 3 capsules - 3x's daily. Cheap and effective!

I came across this site about 3 months ago when I was desparately looking for a cure for the recurring MRSA boils I was encountering. I was first diagnoised with MRSA in November 2007. I had two boils on my each side of my bum. I had to them lanced and packed... I was not able to remove the core, soooo painful!! Then two weeks later I got another boil on the back of my thigh. I used Ithmacal to bring it to a head but never got the core out. I had two more bouts with this stuff. I used the Turmeric powder remedy mixed with honey as a drink 1st. I then purchased the 450mg capsules from Wal-mart. I also started drinking this natural tonic named Ya-Mon Woodroot tonic. It's made from all natural roots and herbs, You have to drink 1/4 cup daily and it doesn't taste the best but, I have not had any other boils come up since the 1st of May. So, I hope that this remedy will be helpful to someone! I know that the Earthclinic remedy has sure helped me. I am still drinking the tonic daily and taking the turmeric capsules...good luck!!

I acquired mrsa staph just two months ago. I am allergic to most antibiotics and pain relievers. I had to go on two atibiotics and they caused me to get terribly sick in the stomach for days. I've always known the healing benefits of tumeric and use it on inflammations. But the doctors and the mrsa had me so scared I didn't do anything. After about two or so weeks I found this site which reminded me of the possibility for relief with tumeric. For my boils it was a tad too late but it certainly reduced the swelling. I had three boils on my face and much pain. I drank a whole glass of water with tumeric and agave nectar which REALLY helped speed my healing. I also began washing my face with tea tree oil soap, applying tea tree oil to my face afterwards and did my best to consume a glass of water with wild oregano oil. This help me tremendously after weeks of suffering!! I stayed on the anitbiotics the whole way. My son's girlfriend also has it and it helped her too. I continue to wash with tea tree oil soap and keep oregeno oil handy just in case. I also put tea tree oil in my nose. I always use tumeric in my cooking but I amped it up and have ever since used tumeric in nearly everything I eat.

I have been dealing with MRSA since last fall and have been on four different antibiotics since then. While I take the meds, the boils go away, but as soon as the meds are gone, the boils return. I began taking tumeric this past Saturday and what a wonder! The three boils I have are nearly gone, and no new ones have shown their ugly faces. Tumeric may not be a cure for MRSA, but apparently, neither are antibiotics. If Tumeric will keep the boils away, at 2.99 per 14/oz. bag, it's well worth it!

Tumeric cured my boils

Last summer I got what I knew was a boil but I had no idea about MRSA or the severity of what they can become. It was on the back of my upper thigh and became so painful I couldn't sit and could hardly drive. Finally went to the Dr who froze the area with needles (the WORST pain ever) and she scraped it all out, bandaged it and gave me antibiotics. A few weeks later I was contacted and informed I had MRSA, which was a little scary. I immediately went to the web to research and found this site. I started getting another one a bit after that, went and got the tumeric capsuls at Walgreens. Took them 2X before bed and next day was almost gone and no pain. The day after, it was gone. Since then I always take it at the first sign and I've never had a reoccurance. This is truly the cure for this, and I am not one for a lot of herbal remedies. It really does work.

A combination of Turmeric, MANUKA HONEY, and a change of diet helped with my MRSA. I follow the Body Ecology Diet, which I didnt see mentioned anywhere on this site. It really changed my life as well as how often I get MRSA. I used to get at least 3-5 new boils a DAY, heavily concentrated on my bottom. They would all swell up to the size of golf balls and I would be unable to drive, walk, or wear any form of shorts of pants. After doing lots of research, I found that my diet was wrong. I cut ALL SUGARS (including fruit) for 3 weeks. I properly combine my foods (no proteins and starches in the same meal). Now that my body isn't spending HOURS digesting, it is actually working to heal and fight the MRSA. I now get a new boil about three times a month, which I will stop IMMEDIATELY with MANUKA honey. I put the honey on a bandaid and cover it overnight. I cant tell you how much pain manuka honey has saved me. You can FEEL it working (it tingles and gets itchy or tingly sometimes) it literally feels like it's going inside the boil and killing it. By the next morning, the boil is flat and defeated. The key is to apply the honey AS SOON AS YOU CATCH THE BOIL, in it's infant stages of looking like a pimple. Manuka honey still works even after it gets big, but it will be painful as all boils are when they get bigger. The honey will draw out the pus and keep the boil open until it is drained all the way. Keep applying honey until the boil closes on its own (heals shut after it is fully drained). My problem with getting so many boils was I was not keeping them covered THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH. I take turmeric twice a day, every day. I hope this helps someone out...it changed my life and my boyfriends life. It made MRSA more manageable and way easier to deal with. I can live a normal life and not be confined to bed for days at a time now. The boils will never stop coming, that is a fact of MRSA, but what we can do is FIGHT at the first signs of a boil and end it RIGHT THEN AND THERE.

I had been diagnosed with mrsa in 3/08 after many ,many trips to the dr office/er for boils no one ever told me I had mrsa I even went to a infectious disease dr for one on my hairline that would not go away she never told me -( 2 1/2 years ago )that it was mrsa-so I had no idea
that i could spread or reinfect myself!I was on heavy duty antibiotics cipro and others for ear surgery and infertlity over the last 3-4 years I have no idea how I picked this up but have a feeling the antibiotics didnt help matters always finished each prescription fully!

This march had a spot on belly started out as a small itchy bump and quicly ballooned into a huge deep sore- cultured came back heavily infected with mrsa resistant to cipro and most other antibiotics Was put on cubicin 2 weeks i.v-very expensive with good insurance 1200.00
cleared it up but here i am 3 months later with another one starting 3 inches from the last- I found this site and started taking turmeric by mouth 450 mg 2x a day and also turmeric powder mixed w/tea tree oil right directly onto the spot of skin within 4-5 days the spot is filled in and healing quite nicely -I am thrilled that I dont have to go through having an i.v stuck in my arm for another 2 weeks! Fantastic Stuff its a miracle! Thankyou to everyone who contributed their comments-hope everyone can heal!

Staph infection-- tumeric, poultice (sea salt, baking soda, and oatmeal), crush raw garlic

About a year ago, I contracted community acquired MRSA while working in the health-care field. My doctor said I was colonized and there wasn't much to do to treat it-- except to manage the symptoms with antibiotics. I went the antibiotic route at first, but over all, they are not effective, and I also feel that they should be reserved only for emergencies.

I have had half a dozen outbreaks since then. A number healed on their own, but some did not, and required lancing and antibiotics.

This recent outbreak, I am determined to not resort to conventional medicine unless the infection persists and causes systemic infection.

I decided to try the turmeric capsules suggested on this site after two days of unsuccessfully treating the growing infection with antibiotic ointment (fusidic acid). I took two 300 mg capsules and within two hours, the infection hurt much less, and the burning was gone. Turmeric definitely has anti-inflammatory properties.

I have been taking the capsules for two days now. The infection is not spreading anymore, and it has not formed a head. It is smaller.

I also made a poultice of equal parts sea salt/baking soda/ oatmeal and let it dry on the infection. I have been doing this three a day. Using this treatment has a dramatic effect: the lesion becomes smaller after every application.

Tonight, I thought I'd see if crushed garlic helped. I applied a clove (after crushing and waiting ten minutes) directly to the infection for five minutes. Warning: this burns quite a bit. However, it only burns where the infection is. Test the garlic on the inside of your arm first to make sure you are not sensitive to it, and be aware, crush raw garlic will burn you if left on your skin too long.

Resist the urge to lance or apply pressure to your own boils. This will only make them worse, as I have learned from experience. I also find heat compresses to be a terrible treatment, and they have only ever led to the infection spreading.

I am having excellent results from the turmeric and poultice treatments. Antibiotics never get rid of the boils, anyway. I will update but as for now, the infection is receding.

Worked Temporarily

I wanted you to know that I have been officially treated for 2 MRSA boils since May 10. I *think* I've had 3 boils but caught the 2nd one under my arm quckly, lanced it myself, put turmeric on it AND took turmeric internally. This 3rd time it looked like a spider bite in the center of my chest, just like you said. I took 2 turmeric pills every hour but it must have been too late...sigh....had it lanced yesterday. Is there anywhere on here that tells us how to KILL the MRSA? How to not get these boils anymore or (worse) transfer them to our families? What about grapefruit seed extract in the nose? I have read that that's worse....I just need some help here. Drs keep telling me "Not to worry" but this is no small matter in our household!! Thank you so much.

My son suffered with MRSA. His upper lip swelled out about 6 inches and the doctors couldn't do anything to help him. The boils kept comming back in different places.

I found this info on Turmeric. I told my son to give it a try because he was suffering so bad and the doctors were not helping him.

All I can say is since he tried Turmeric. The boils have gone away. It worked for him it was cheap and easy to use, and it worked better than anything the doctors did for my son. A few bucks compaired to all the hospital bills... Nothing compares. It's all natural and it WORKS!!!!

I am 26 years old and started getting staph infections when I was 23. I don't have health insurance, and since I was sick of giving the doctor $80+ a month each time I had to go to him for meds, I started researching herbal remedies. I tied doing pastes of goldenseal, I tried warm compresses with lavander oil., I tired so many different things that didn't work. I then tried this tumeric thing. I didn't think it was working for a couple of days, but I stuck with it and on the fourth day the boil came to a head and drained. I couldn't believe it! I was so excited because it actually worked. I highly recommend this.

I recently developed an abscess on my right cheek. At first I thought it was a small acne cyst which I have been plagued with since going through menopause. On the third day, which was a Saturday-these things always happen when the doctors office is closed-I couldn't open my mouth because of the pressure on my TMJ joint. I immediately went to an urgent care center. The very nice doctor there lanced the cotton picking thing and packed the wound. He put me on two ABT and wanted to prescribe Darvocet for the pain, but I refused and opted for prescription strengh Motrin which I though I would be tough and not have to take. Needless to say I was popping Motrin the first two days. The lab reported was positive for Community Acquired MRSA. People need to know that there are three different strains of the bacteria out there now. There is hospital acquired MRSA which is only sensitive to Vancomycin. There VRSA, which is Vancomycin Resistant MRSA, and I don't know what is available to treat it, since the last know antibiotic found to treat HA-MRSA, is not effective for VRSA. The community acquired version is treatable now with several ABTs, but for how long. These little boogers are smart and mutate. What I am currently doing is this:

1. Taking turmeric powder

2. Washing 2x daily with a soap I mixed with 1/2 hibiclens and 1/2 tea tree oil soap After washing my face, I made a "toner" of 1/2 c water, 1/2 tsp Epsom Salt, and 1/2 tsp Baking Soda and soaked a cotton ball in it and applied it all over my face. The water will evaporate, leaving the minerals and salt on your skin.

3. Applying Muciprocin ointment to the lesion until completely healed.

4.. To aid in rupture and drainage, I bought some old fasion drawing salve and filled the area with it, and covered it with a large bandaid. This seemed to do the trick. The very next morning the lesion ruptured and a big, hardened plug of debris was stuck to the bandaid when I removed it.

5. I am now applying triple AB ointment in my nostrils 2x daily to get the bacteria count down there.

Finally, be aware that Staph bacteria can grow in your makeup. Once you develop a boil or severe acne cyst, chunk out all your facial makeup. You will just reinfect yourself if you continue to use it.

Turmeric is really amazing. I had a boil on my leg last year, but knew nothing about MRSA. I covered it up with anti biotic ointment and put a bandaid on it until it healed. Well it healed with the infection still inside, so i knew it was still somewhere in my body. Well, now, almost exactly a year later here i am with one on my stomach. I knew what it was this time when it first started growing, so i looked for natural remedies, as i've heard so many negative things about anti biotics (and i have no health insurance). Well, i happened to find this site, and within 5 days my boil came to a head, drained, and is starting to heal!! Whereas last year my boil took 2 or more months to heal, and didn't even heal properly. The core seemed to just slide out this time and now it is closing up FAST. This stuff is AMAZING.

I took 1 tbsp in water (with juice, i couldnt handle the taste by itself) about 3 times a day and 3 pills in between. It has also helped with my acne, as it is an anti inflamatory!

I am so happy I found this site. My husband was suffering from a horrible MRSA infection on his jaw and ending up being hospitalized. A few months later, I got a staph infection under my armpit. I knew what the medical facilities course of treament was and I wasn't happy that my husband kept having recurrent staph the moved up his face. We figured out why after reading your articles. (Staph in the nose)

So I began treatment of tumeric(1 tsp) in water 3x daily, tea tree oil applied topically 2-3x daily, and tea tree oil on personal lubricant for the nose. Within 6 hours maybe less I could feel the pain going away, I was actually able to sleep better that night too. I did 4 days treament and the dime sized MRSA staph was gone. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thank you for this website providing information of alternate treatments. I moved to Florida in October of 2007 from Alabama. I started getting knots under my arms the end of November, very painful knots. I was treated in December of 2007 for MRSA. I was given a shoot and a 10 day prescription of Levaquin(I not sure I spelled correctly). I had boils in my arm pits (both) and groin area, approx. 20 boils all together, very painful. The shoot nor the medicine worked. I have had continious boils since December and had tried everything to get rid of them but they just would not heal or go away. I started researching MRSA and found this website..It has been a blessing..The articles I read about staph and using turmeric was my cure. Please if you wish you may edit this but please let readers know this does WORK..I was at my wits end and was not getting any better just worse. I have now been taking turmeric for 2 complete weeks. My boils have busted and healed with NO NEW OUT BREAKS. I take 1 tablet 450mg a day and it is working. I purchased them for $6.56 and I can not tell you what I have spent at the doctors office (that did not do any good) hundreds. Thank you so very much for the information. It worked for ME..Thank you again.
