Stem Cell Therapy for Mitochondrial Myopathy

Steve G. (Shanghai, China) on 02/04/2016

I've also got mito myopathy. need to do nuclear and mito DNA testing as biopsy usually shows nothing. Some new drugs close to approval. Also, now can edit mito DNA using stem cell. Also, use virus to bring healthy mito dna into body. Those are only potential cures. Supplements proven no effect. Some evidence that nicotinamide at 100mg daily, a precursor to vit B3 helps some myopathy. I will test this soon on myself. Check this site for latest news on mito. http://mitochondrialdiseasenews.com/2015/07/17/new-breakthrough-stem-cell-therapy-mitochondrial-diseases/

Good Luck, Steve

Help Needed for Son With for Mitochondrial Myopathy (New Page Created)

Lizz (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) on 01/02/2010
4 out of 5 stars

My son has a Mitochondrial Myopathy I am wondering if there are any suggestions for natural remedies that others have found helpful. The key issues being Muscle Weakness, Fatigue, Pain, Difficulty going to sleep and staying asleep, Cold/Heat sensitivity and breathing difficulties at night.

Currently he takes co enzyme Q10, Multi Vitamin, Vitamin C and Melatonin. He is 11 years old and has had this condition since birth. As he gets older more symptoms appear and symptom severity has been increasing.

Any thoughts would be Greatly Appreciated

EC: Dear Lizz,

Are the supplements helping at all? We've added a NAY rating because it sounds like they are not from your post.
