After trying many remedies over many years the one that actually cured me was White Vinegar! The cheap stuff! After showering I dipped cotton balls and rubbed on affected area let air dry. Within a couple day itching stopped and most surprising is that the area is no longer dark and flaky. I couldn't believe it. I can't recommend enough.

Here’s the routine that solved the problem: Use any type of bidet system to cleanse with water after a bowel movement. After such cleansing, or after taking a swim or a shower, use a blow-dryer set on low to fully dry the area susceptible to jock itch. (Tip: Women should take special care to avoid excessively drying out sensitive genital skin.)
After blow-drying, apply a thin layer of cornstarch to the area susceptible to jock itch. (Again, Ladies—avoid applying to sensitive genital skin that is supposed to be naturally moist.) No fancy type or brand necessary—just plain old cornstarch like what you could find in your grandmother’s pantry. Set some aside in a small container with a lid, to keep in your bathroom. Just sit on the toilet like you’re going to go, get a pinch of cornstarch, and spread it on the skin where you get jock itch. It will leave the skin feeling silky smooth and completely dry. Apply the cornstarch before participating in running, lots of walking, or any physical exertion that will make you sweat a lot. It will absorb excess sweat and reduce friction in the buttcrack area, keeping you itch-and-fungus-free. If you live in a humid climate and tend to sweat a lot, this is a good (and cheap! ) fix.

Note: Throughout history, the antiseptic nature of vinegar has been used to clean and disinfect soldiers wounds and thus speed up wound healing. Apple cider vinegar was used to this effect during the Roman Legions, American civil war and as late as world war one. Also mix Tea tree oil and Coconut oil 1:1 ratio and use this as a topical rub to your man junk area. Do this every day til symptoms clear.

If I spray it on my feet for athletes feet, the fungus and or virus whichever is at the time starting the itching and soreness and I do have both, MOVES up to the mouth area and I am stuck with a cold sore. If I get this stuff as I have on the fronts of my lower legs, I can use it there and it works to kill it there but also does not cause the infection to move to other areas. It dries out my lips to a degree and literally stops the reaction from my body.
I know you may think this is all ridiculous but it is the truth. The active ingredient in this is Tolnaftate 1% then alcohol, then BHT so I guess it may be the 3rd ingredient. All I know is this combo works so well at detoxing me and clearing viruses and fungus that I wanted to tell you about it. It does work to put it on the skin rather than take it internally for me. I assume the alcohol is a great carrier of it and of course has benefits of killing surface germs as well. So I will continue to use this the way I do because it doesn't harm me at all and clearly works throughout my entire body without the risk of taking too much. I only use it when I need to. I always find it to work.

The applications continued for a few days and then I chanced upon Earth Clinic looking for maybe a natural solution to MC. I read ACV as a top ranking solution for Jock Itch. Gave it a try applying it with cotton swabs. I couldn't soak my buttocks overnight in it of course so post bath in morning and evening I applied it. There was some improvement but not drastic that I was reading here. Rubbing Alcohol was the no. 1 so I went in for that. I applied it and to my surprise, it did not itch or sting at all contrary to what reviews had reported that it would sting like hell! So was not sure if my fungal infection would respond well to the rubbing alcohol, I read more here on all the possible options people had tried. Garlic, which is an extremely popular ingredient in everyday Indian cooking, cheap most of the times, readily available across the year, with anti-fungal, anti-microbial, anti-viral properties. Some research is being done over the years.
With the success I got with ACV on my MC, I braved to experiment a solution all my own - mix ACV with freshly ground Garlic. Peel the garlic cloves, use any kind of kitchen vessel to crush it, it becomes mushy and leaves it juice. Put all of it in a glass container that has perhaps one table spoon os slightly more of ACV (Heinz). Keep it overnight and apply post bath in the morning after drying the area. Repeating the same in the evening post bath. Trust me, after the very first application, I can confidently report, the itch which was horrible for years and not a day where I wont be scratching my bottom, WENT AWAY!! In one application! Unbelievable. Of course I have continued to apply it for almost 10 days now and I think I would have itched 1% of my prior levels of itching! It's a big area, chronic for 3 years so I am giving it a month of applying daily morning and evening, the ACV with garlic - applied and left on, perhaps dried naturally for 5 minutes before wearing clothing, but am very happy with the no itch days and nights I am experiencing currently and hope this terrible infection doesn't ever come back.
Please try on a small area first maybe as garlic may cause some burns on sensitive skin. But hey...mix ACV with garlic and see it work on your most irritant Ringworm infection. Be at it for a few weeks if the skin was discoloured (as in my case) or the ringwork was visible (as is with me). Am sure it will go away. I shall come back and report more. Thanks for reading. All the best. You are NOT alone! Have faith. It will be defeated.

I am on day 1 of Milk of Magnesia and wow I think I am 80-90% cured so I had to share this...skin and itch are improved drastically after one application of milk of magnesia. I am on day 4 of Tea Tree oil which did improve the Jock itch by 40% or so, but the Milk of Mag just literally dealt a blow to the fungus. I'll explain more in detail and how to use each.
1) First off change your underwear everyday. That's a given and reduce exposure to sweat on your balls by showering right after your workouts.
2) Use a blow dryer after every shower to air dry (this helped the jock itch like 15%)
3) Step one in the shower is to lather with Selenium Sulfide to remove any debris on your crotch area.
4) Then lather with Nizoral Shampoo and let it sit for a few minutes and soak into your skin and follicles. Rinse.
5) Next use Tea Tree oil with aloe vera and Peppermint. Both Tea Tree oil and Peppermint have been shown in research studies to kill fungus. Warning this is going to burn like crazy because you will let it dry into your skin (do not rinse the tea tree oil lather off). Let it sit for 10 minutes and let it burn...obviously you be the judge, if you think you are having a bad reaction obviously get professional help.
6) The finishing blow which is almost like a miracle cure is Milk of Magnesia, I'll tell you why. NO PAIN AT ALL! The milk of magnesia at your local pharmacy also contains Sodium Hypochlorite which turns into chlorine :) You've heard some of the reviews find cures after being in the swimming pool, well look no further the Milk of Mag will cause the formation of Chlorine from the sodium hypochlorite. I did the research, Milk of Mag removes all moisture around the skin and has a pH level of 10.5 where fungus usually thrives at around pH 5-7 and up to 9.
Today I saw really good results and am feeling confident and relieved. I would like to share this with others so they can get rid of this annoying condition.
TL;DR Get Milk of Magnesia asap to treat jock itch! It's cheap, there's no pain, and the results are amazing!

Chronic jock itch (as opposed to acute) is a serious matter, as you know. It spreads under the skin. Topical treatments alone will never get rid of it (as you also know). I am currently on a candida diet and taking an anti-fungal formulation.
Rubbing alchohol cleans/kills fungus on the surface of the skin so is valuable before applying anything else topical.
At the moment I’m alternating between Silver & MSM cream from Amazon (lasts 12 hours), and an intimate hygiene spray (amazing for itching). I hardly itch any more except at night if I let my groin get too hot OR if I eat carbs.
Resistant carbs seem to be okay (potatoes/rice that have cooled and are then either reheated or eaten cold) I also treat a larger area than where I have itched, which is crucial to do (as it spreads invisibly under the skin). I am also washing my underwear and sheets etc at 60 and changing everything daily. And using alcohol to disinfect the surfaces of the topical treatments I use. Good luck!

Just soak your area in the dmso water, rub it in real well... leave it on like that at least 5 minutes before rinsing off.

I have had jock itch on various occasions and have been able to easily and quickly resolve the fungal infection with sodium bicarbonate aka baking soda. I either pour a mixture of water and baking soda on the affected area or paste some powder directly on the area. In order to prevent a recurrence I eat yoghurt or supplement with probiotics. I also would drink some baking soda and/or acv.
Baking soda is a very powerful antifungal and can take care of all fungus including athletes foot and yeast infections. It is also used to fight fungus associated with cancer. Dr. Simoncini from Italy cured many cancers with just sodium bicarbonate.
Since many people suffer from fungal infection after being treated with antibiotics, it is important to regrow the beneficial bacteria in your gut with probiotics.

I have used all the over the counter antifungals to no avail. I know H202 was a good astringent for Jock Itch. However, I used Benzoyl Peroxide 10% cream (acne treatment) and within 2 days my severe rash was diminishing quickly. The Itch and smell was just about gone. At 6 days it was evident that this was the best treatment. At $2.60 a tube (generic brand) I can walk again!!!

What worked for me was lemongrass essential oil diluted into a carrier oil (best is squalane but maybe any will work). How dilute to make it depends on how sensitive your skin is, which partly depends on how bad the fungus is. At first, make it pretty dilute, like maybe only 20% lemongrass oil. As your fungus goes away you will be able to increase to 60% or even 70% lemongrass oil.
Apply it 4 times daily or more. If it burns like hell then dilute it more. It should burn just a little bit if your fungus is bad.

Then I tried topical Borax. Not only is it extremely effective, but it doesn't burn at all! Why on earth are pharmacies selling all these lame antifungal creams that barely do anything, when Borax is the real solution? What is wrong with the way knowledge is spread in this world?

The high points of my cure are:
- soak in a whirlpool bath that has a regulated anti-fungal solution (chlorine level monitored and maintained) for at least 10 minutes every day until the fungus is killed. If you have had the fungus for as long as I did, it is deeply embedded in your skin so it takes the chlorine a while to be absorbed adequately. You will feel the areas that are infested as they will itch while you are soaking. When the itching stops, the fungus has been killed. Repeat this treatment until the fungus is completely gone. It took around three months for me as it was deeply embedded. Chlorine has the benefit that it can actually kill the fungus and it's spores. Swimming in chlorinated pool suppressed my fungus, but wasn't concentrated enough to kill it off. Most other treatments cause the spores to go into a defensive mode that is very durable and will re-emerge.
- increase the acidity of the infested areas by applying a citric acid solution. Use a strength level of 1 teaspoon per cup of water. This acid is what is used for food products, can be ingested, is very effective and doesn't burn nearly as much as other options. This will keep spores from re-producing between whirlpool treatments. There are spores everywhere in your home if you've been infested for a while.
- wash your socks and underwear in very hot water for an extended cycle. Normal hot water washing didn't kill the spores of the fungus I had.
- toss shoes that are infested. If you have a really nice pair of shoes you'd like to salvage, you can lightly soak your socks and wear them in the infested shoes for a day. If this doesn't work, toss.
- clean your bathroom floors/shower/tub with a bleach solution to kill spores. This won't get them all as some will remain in bedroom carpets, etc. but this will get rid of most of them.
