I read about benefits of doing a three day alkaline water fast so I bought some alkaline water and started drinking it, by the second day I noticed my dry, red itchy eyes were gone! My eyes felt perfectly fine, and felt soothed. Now I alkalize twice a day . Some people buy an alkalizing formula or you can just use Ted's method Alkalizing is the key that cured my dry, red itchy eye problem.I hope this helps other people.

Simple Water Splash for Itchy Eyes

This morning I was having an allergic reaction to some dust I accidentally picked up from a shopping basket at a big box store. One of my eyes was pink and also itched and felt uncomfortable.

After splashing some plain tap water onto my partially closed eye, all my troubles went away after a couple of hours. Sometimes all you need is some plain tap water.

Finally Figured Out What Has Been Causing Itchy Eye

Rob (Cape Hatteras) on 03/09/2021

Itchy Eyes- I have had grit in my left eye for quite a few years. It is very uncomfortable. I finally figured out what caused it. I was using shampoo -- the Walmart version of Head and Shoulders. After I stopped using it, this condition went away. My dermatologists had recommended I wash my face with my shampoo. I am 10 days from using it and my eye has been completely healed. By not using it any longer, my face is not as red either.

Bilberry Eye Bath Helps Watery and Itchy Eyes

Mmsg (Somewhere, Europe) on 03/24/2016

What I have used with success for watery eyes (tears just running down the cheek for no apparent reason) is an eye "bath" with Bilberry extract. I fill a clean eye bath cup with comfortably warm water, put in 8 or so drops of Bilberry extract, mix well (the extract tends to sink to the bottom) and cup it to each eye, looking in all directions so that it'll get everywhere.

This has also helped itchy eyes.

Multiple Remedies for Itchy Eyes

Kayla (La, Ca) on 04/25/2012

My symptoms I was suffering were a fever, chills, nausea, pressure in my abdomen and slight pain on the right side. Sometimes discomfort under my rib cage. I was scared it was serious! My medical doctor told me it was "anxiety" after they ran every single test known to western medicine. Except the baruim enema I went to an Nautropathic Dr who diagnosed me on the second visit with SIBO (small intestinal bacteria overgrowth) I also had been suffering from dry itchy red eyes for years, (my eye doctor told me I was getting older I was in my 30's) then I had crazy itchy skin it felt like bugs were crawling on me (I was in my thiries my doctor said it was dry skin or hormones) I left those inept doctor.

Then I started taking heavy doses of Vitamin C the itchy skin subsided. My dry itchy red eyes continued. Recently I thought I had a cavity since my tooth was hot and cold sensitive went to the dentist said I had sinisitis! My dentist told me to take Zinc and use saline solution for my sinus infection. Now I believe all of these thing are related that went undiagnosed for a long time. I started using collodial silver in purified water with GSE and saline in a Neti pot for my sinus infection I noticed my red itchy gritty eyes is slowly going away. I somtimes will just spray the colloidal silver into my eyes before bed. I also notice I was having the early onset of yeast infection so I addressed that with ACV and probiotics and Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) which kills yeast. I'm certain that all of these thing are all related! I have taken the very best care of myself. My ND put me on garlic tablets and berberine I take 3 three times a day. I take four rose hips with C twice a day. I also drink black tea with grated ginger in it and strain it before I drink it. I also drink Grapefruit Seed extract in water all day using a straw. Most of my symptoms have subsided. The diet is easy no sugar, flour, no dairy , coffee, no heavy foods no cheese, I usually have rice and vegetables or dal. I eat lots of garlic which I really like. I hope this helps.

Eyebright for Itchy Eyes

This spring, after huge problems with plane trees, my allergies got far worse, including my eyes which were itching 24/7 and only getting worse. During a trip to the UK I went to a health shop where I got quite a few supplements which I am testing right now, including Euphrasia (Eyebright). I had never heard of it but I have to say that I felt the results right away. I have been taking it for 10 days now, 20 drops in the morning before eating and 20 drops at night before going to bed and till now I am mostly ok. These ones are from Dr. Vogel. As far as the other symptoms are concerned (itching throat, running nose and sneezing a lot especially at night) I am still waiting to see the full results. During the day I am ok, the nights are the worst but if I manage to keep it all under control I will post here what I have been taking.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Itchy Eyes

Alice (Sugar Grove, Nc) on 05/17/2010

It took a while to register, but after I started using the ACV, BSM, lemon juice and baking soda to help my stomach problems and psoriasis, I realized that my itchy eyes were no longer itchy. I had just assumed that they were itchy because I'm getting old and worn out and spend entirely too much time "blogging". Whatever the cause, the ACV, etc. seems to be the medicine my eyes also respond to.

Homeopathy for Itchy Eyes (New Ailments Page Created, Thank You!)

Francisca (Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France) on 03/17/2010

Due to my allergies I used to have very itchy eyes which was quite disaggreable. The more I scratched the more they itched. I tried a lot of things but nothing ever seemed to work well. One thing which relieved the itching a bit was powder charcoal inside my eye as an eye liner but now I have found something else, which funny enough is helping quiet well. Although I have tried to find the English name for the product I don't manage. It is a calcium supplement, actually calcium salts. Here in France it is called Sels Calcaires. You take a tiny little bit of the powder morning and evening before the meals and let melt in your mouth. As it is a homeopathic remedy you should wait 15 minutes before eating. I started taking it because of my age (52) thinking that maybe I needed a bit of calcium and to my suprise my eyes stopped itching right away so did my throat. The connection between the calcium and my allergies is not clear to me. Actually I have just had a blood test and the calcium level is actually very good so I didn't even seem to be missing any still..... but what do their levels really mean? I hope that this helps other people with the same problem because although it is not a dangerous condition it does wreck your life! I wonder whether things will stay this good after I finish taking the salts because you are supposed to take them only for 4 to 6 weeks.
