Give that part of the body a break from processing food and time to heal.
It is crazy When you do sports muscle injury, the doctor does not give you a painkiller and say, "See how your sports practice goes tonight and if it gets worse, come back tomorrow I could give a strong pain killer"
No he says take a break for about 10 days and have a rest.
But the western medicine system comes up with 'protein pump inhibitors'
If you are a sugar burner that needs to eat every two hours and not a fat burner that does not need to eat regularly.
Eat dinner as normal, maybe choosing a food that is a little easier on the stomach. Try to avoid eating a snack before you go to bed.
The next morning, have a glass of water, and keep drinking water every half hour or every time you feel hungry, it does work for killing hunger pains.
Mid afternoon you might like to stop drinking, or you might be making toilet visits all night, maybe you could have a light meal, lets hope it might be a meal without indigestion.

Dehydration is interesting and I am not one that has it figured out because cortisol plays into it. Many people were raised in fear, worry, stress, and anxiety all of which produce cortisol . You learn how to live by watching those who role model for you. My parents were not worriers and I don't tend to worry. I do fear though because they created an unpredictable stressful atmosphere around me.
I find that I have to unlearn those thought patterns even after years of being away from them. So cortisol is made when the body is getting ready to run from the bear and it is a steroid hormone that requires borrowing from different areas of the body hormones, minerals, and water to get it all going .( Your body does not plan to digest food when planning to run from the bear, it is preparing for the crisis only).
When you get low on something, your body makes choices for you. Like the heart needs to keep beating but you could live without magnesium for other functions. Blood test usually don't pick up magnesium shortages until your heart is stopped. So there are like 300 enzyme systems using magnesium in the body and producing stress hormone, cortisol affects that.
So magnesium is what calms you down and helps you rest, sleep .
If you produce a lot of cortisol your body is probably not making any bile in the liver to drop into the gallbladder and you have a lot problems with the whole digestive system. You can take ox bile to prime your bile pumps in your liver if you are living on cortisol.
You can take hydrochloric acid to aid in digestion but it would be better to learn and overcome the root issues. Acid affects bacteria and enzymes in your gut. Too low on acid will make bad microbes flourish and infections can set in.
There are things you can do to lower cortisol, but if your adrenal glands are working overtime you can get adrenal failure and that will affect your life. It's called addison's disease. Baths and swimming take water from you and your skin wrinkles . Sweating removes water and minerals . Coffee and diuretics remove water and minerals. Lack of minerals or an imbalance of them can make water flow right through you and not stop to hydrate you. Well, this section needed this light from our friend Batman. Blessings, Charity

But I couldn't sleep. Lay there with indigestion. That Fillet 'o fish was stuck in my gullet and I couldn't lie down. Had to sit up. But I was so sick I couldn't sit up. I was a mess.
Had a really bad night. The next day still with indigestion... I came to this website. Saw about Apple Cider Vinegar.
I made up 2Tbsp of ACV with some honey and warm water. I only took 2 sips because I didn't want my gullet to be burnt out with ACV! Only 2 sips. Within a minute things felt better. Wasn't long and I could lie down again without the awful indigestion. I was so pleased. I then swallowed down the rest of the ACV and honey.
I've still got the rotten cold but NO INDIGESTION.

For the past few days, I'd felt increasingly worse. I'd wake up STARVING - feeling as if I needed to eat EVERYTHING in sight, but eating didn't stop it, and I felt quite nauseous at the same time. I had taken ginger capsules and wintergreen mints, but neither helped. I couldn't take it anymore, so came to EarthClinic. I have ACV, but was hesitant to use it. I had a bottle of 3% food grade HP in the fridge, so I decided to try it. Poured 1/8ish tsp into a small glass of water, stirred, and drank it down. Within 10 minutes I felt almost entirely normal again! Just amazing! I'll be using this again, right away if it comes back!

Yerba Mate' tea is like a miracle worker for indigestion! Mint tea and or Stevia can be added for taste.
I originally learned of this tea from book The Handbook of Alternatives to Chemical Medicine.

Now I need to find the underlying cause; I hardly ever eat fried food, but I want to get to the bottom of the problem.

Side note - since I began adding magnesium chloride (the main ingredient in a concentration of liquid trace minerals) to my water, my digestion (and therefore lack of indigestion) has improved drastically. Although tonight was different, I rarely need anything more than just this water to digest food properly.

Maybe it is for this reason that restaurants often give a free mint after a meal?

Here is my salad dressing for a salad of mixed greens and cut up vegetables like zucchini, yellow squash, radishes, cucumbers, tomatoes, celery (I'm getting hungry!!)
Sprinkle freeze-dried mixed Italian herbs (you can mix them yourself) on the salad after all the vegetables and lettuce are in the bowl. This includes marjoram, thyme, rosemary, savory, sage, oregano and basil. There is also the popular salt-free brand which has been around for decades, and I use that a lot in cooking. Add some fresh or freeze-dried dill. Add garlic salt to taste and coarsely ground black pepper. Drizzle the juice of half to one full lemon - stick to your taste level on this -- over the salad and herbs, then drizzle about one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil over that, and toss the whole salad thoroughly, to coat all the lettuce and vegetables. Taste it before you finish it. Be conservative with the lemon juice, it can be bitter if too much is used.
My mother showed me how to make salad this way many long years ago, and it is the best thing you can eat. It is filling and will keep your digestive system regular if you eat this kind of salad every day.

Onion Juice Therapy made me aware what's going on in my body. You are supposed to drink one turkish tea glass of pure onion juice from pungent organically grown onions frist thing in the morning. After a 40 day vegetable and fruit juice fast, my digestion was still not fine. So I tried this remedy.
After the first sip I felt very sick and immediately threw up undigested food. I could drink only one sip that morning. I also spit up a lot of foam. Don't ask me what kind this was. It also burnt slightly in some specific areas of my stomach. I drank the rest of the juice then during the day which was easier as there was food in my system. Next day I could down 2 sips and felt slight burning sensations in different areas of stomach. I read that if you have strong reactions to this medicine you need it the most. So I continued and today I can drink the whole glass without problem. I have to explain that I used onion juice before mixed in fresh orange juice to cure a flu and developing bronchitis. After 2 days of drinking one large onion daily mixed in 32 oz orange juice I was fine. Since then I have great trust in the healing power of onions. I think that drinking the onion juice mixed in orange juice would be a good start for people who simply cannot put up with the pure juice. Then they can gradually decrease the amount of orange juice needed till the pure juice is tolerated. I know there is other remedies out there less difficult. I had problems with indigestion and smelly gases for so long that I really want to eliminate this problem. Undigested food might be the starting point for so many illnesses that it is to me of utmost importance to clean up this mess. I just drank one glass and it feels good when this juice cleans you up from the inside. After only 5 days in which I increased my intake every day by one sip more, I am now feeling really good with it.
