Medication & Surgery for Recovery After Ruptured Bleb

Lythe (Johannesburg) on 06/07/2020
5 out of 5 stars

I had a pneumothorax in my left lung last year which was caused by a ruptured bleb or bollus. I had to under go an operation and since then my left lung has never given me any problem again. I used to have pains since I was about 13 (I'm 17 now) and it would normally alternate between my left and right side. I literally just started developing pains yesterday on my right side again which is probably because of the transition into winter. Normally laying down on my stomach or on the side that isn't paining helps me relive the pain. Arcoxia is the one medication that's really really helped me and hasn't had any side effects. I'm also a serious athlete hoping to go pro soon and take my fitness and health really seriously. I'm going to try out these 3 suggestions and report back if they help. I first hand know how painful and devastating it is to have a pneumothorax and I'll be the happiest if I can give someone the knowledge I wish I had now when I was going through it all.

Surgery really really helps and if you're looking for medication that actually relieves the pain within 3 to 4 days max , I recommend Arcoxia (mild strength).

Garlic or Peroxide for Blebs

Dave (Winona, Mn) on 10/09/2014

I'm glad I found this web site. I was just diagnosed with one large and three or four small blebs. The Pulmonologist tells me what they COULD do (Chest tube or surgery). He tells me what they WON'T do (either). He tells me we'll wait and see and I'll have another CT in one year. In hindsight this "cough" has been around for 2 years and only recently gotten worse. The last 6 weeks I've developed a wheeze when coughing. If something is worsening I'm not comfortable with a wait and see attitude.

Starting tomorrow I will try the peroxide in with the humidifier at night. I will also try enough garlic in capsule form to equal 3 gloves a day. I won't be able to follow up with anything definitive until my next CT scan but I've book marker this page and will update any changes, good or bad during the next year.

Bleb Remedies Needed ASAP for Son

Eileen (Sumter, Sc) on 07/08/2013

Please Help. My son is 41 has been a smoker for 20 plus years. He was admitted to the hospital 5 days ago with a collapsed lung. Results of CT showed blebs in both lungs. The dr said they were the largest he had ever seen covering about 1/3 or more of his upper lungs. One dr had a dismal prognosis. He has a small leak but difficult to do surgery to close the leak because it may cause problems in future for surgery on blebs. We are believing for ievine healing. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
