Be careful with the baking soda, everyone!
Next time I will just do straight up lime or lemon juice in water to alkalize.

For years I have alkalized (and monitored urine pH) with sodium/potassium/magnesium bicarbonates. As was stated in the book, magnesium bicarbonate is difficult to make. It can only exist in very dilute water solutions containing 1.5g magnesium per liter. Last spring, I discovered, that one could take magnesium acetate, either orally or transdermally (rubbing on skin), and it will metabolize into large amounts of beneficial magnesium bicarbonate. Dr Russell Beckett originally discovered that magnesium bicarbonate in drinking water increased the lifespan in sheep and cattle back in the 1970s. Since then more benefits have been discovered by others. I originally started a magnesium bicarbonate research thread on the Life Extension forums. LEF closed (and erased) their entire forum system last Aug. This research has moved to a Google Group.

1 (very big possibly 0,5 liter) glass,
add half a small teaspoon (not too much) cinnamon and stir with 1 cm water ( to prevent lumps),
add 2 cm honey, again stir well,
add half a tea spoon sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
add slowly to control and end fizzling of the baking soda, 2/3 cm lemon juice and again stir, if you are on a low carb high fat diet 1 cm is better,
fill up with cold water (never hot or hotter than 40C to protect honey ingredients),
drink half of the glass first thing in the morning and other half just before sleeping, Cheers!

My question is; which remedy is used for what? If I add lemon or lime juice will it be better? I bought the ph Balanced for life book and I am still confused which basic recipe to use. Is there any way to make this simpler to understand which recipe to use and why?
I am asking for three different ailments.
1. I am 60 year old woman with arthritis in knee and shoulder. low energy, don't sleep well but basically healthy and no medication.
2. 30 year old son with 3 autoimmune diseases. MS, AS and Graves
3. 20 year old daughter with constant and long belching that goes on for hours. pain in joints on whole right side of body from jaw to feet.Headaches And lastly attention deficit.
1. baking soda and water
2. lemon or lime baking soda and water
3. ACV, baking soda and water
4. baking soda, potassium bicarbonate and water
5. any other additions that I am not aware of and baking soda and water

At what moment do you preconize to take these citrates ? Is it possible to have an e-mail from a person who has used the citrates successfully ? Thank you for your answers, Andre.

Or even more weird to gulp the mix of acid+base= that results in salts - look at the chemical formula- why would you want this?
I understand that soda and Apple Cider Vinegar - alone are capable of cures, but together? PLEASE EXPLAIN THE PURPOSE FROM THE DIGESTIVE CHEMISTRY STAND POINT. Thanks!

I have started taking 1/2 fresh organic lime with one tsp of bicarb soda on an empty stomach in the morning yesterday and today to alkalise. My urinary ph went up immediately so it definitely worked. Thank you!
What confuses me is that it seems to really aggravate my vaginal thrush. On both days of taking the remedy in the morning I immediately felt itching, burning and vaginal discharge.
I have specifically not used the ACV as I heard it can be bad for thrush. Any ideas on why this happened?
I am low on magnesium and potassium (supplementing both at the moment).
I also suffer from irregular periods after coming off the pill after 16 years. We are trying to have a baby and so far nothing has really worked.
I have done Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture every week for the last 1.5 years and a few months ago the thrush came and I can't seem to get it away with anything. I started using the borax and it seemed to help immediately until I tried the lime and bicarb soda thing...
Please advise.
Thank you, Judy

Does anyone know of a food grade source for the two carbonates? I have read that these are both very irritating to human tissues, so I have a concern is this formula even safe?
Is there an alternative alkalizing formula that will cross the blood brain barrier and alkalize brain tissues?

I am worried I took too much baking soda/lemon juice yesterday. The instructions are a bit confusing on the page I did as #4 states, but obviously completely misunderstood how to do it. I put 3 T of lemon juice in glass then added baking soda slowly and kept adding it and the foam never stopped til almost 1/4C had been added to the 3T of lemon juice. Then filled the glass half-way with water. It was VERY salty. I drank almost half of that mixture before I decided this just can't be right.
My stomach is VERY VERY bloated. No pain, just bloating. I am very thirsty also. I am not sure how to counteract this? Would charcoal capsules help here? Wobenzym N? I have many things on hand, just not sure what to do to try to undo what I've done.
I can't believe I was so stupid. I should've went with my gut and only used 1/2t or so.....hope I can reverse this. Thanks for any advice or help!
