UTI- Home Treatment and Cure

I had a stubborn UTI that wasn't remedied by a week of antibiotics- Nitrofurantoin in my case. I'm 60 and this is the fourth UTI I've ever had; antibiotics had been an effective cure in the past. My next prescription was for Ciprofloxacin, but in reading the side effects was not something I wanted to toy with (tendon inflammation or rupture-- I have some arthritis and am prone to this already; it's debilitating and can be permanent). So I embarked on an alternative path. It took three weeks of bearing down on the bladder infection with my basket of goodies to finally kick the UTI. I started with the first couple of items, then added other things seeing a stronger attack was needed. I also started with 2x/ day moving up to 5x/ day which seemed to finally go from holding the infection at bay to overcoming the infection. I am 115 lbs. This is the medley that was my cure:

Oregano Oil-- 7500 mg softgel (1), grapefruit seed extract--500mg capsule (1), Goldenseal--400mg capsule (1), D-Mannose--1000mg capsule (1), serrapeptase 40,000 spu capsule (1- 3x/day), garlic-- 500mg softgel (1/day).

I did this morning, noon, evening, night, and middle of night, usually with milk to get the pills down, and with or without food.

My medley info was gathered from my mother and from this website. In reading deep into these posts at week three I learned about baking soda and vinegar. So each morning I drank about 20 oz of water with 1-2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and about 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. It really helped clear things out fast and also creating an anti-bacterial alkaline environment in the bladder-- I think it would be excellent to do this at the first sign of infection. I suspect that if I had done this with my antibiotic it would have beat the infection. I didn't give up coffee or normal meals as some wrote about. This probably would have helped me beat the infection more quickly, but I wasn't ready to resort to that stage yet.

I will bet that 10 days to two weeks of this concentrated effort would take care of a UTI. By the end of the third week I reduced the pill medley to 4x/day, no tingle, then 3x/day... so I stopped. No more infection! I am writing this review a month later, and still no infection. :) Best to you!!
