Bad Cough Draining Fluids - Need Remedies

HisJewel (NC) on 01/19/2021

Greetings EC and Friends,

My cold medicine recipe finally found a cough to tough for it. And to make the challenge harder, I am away from home..

I believe I have run into a whooping cough. I have had to wear Adult diapers. I am at day 10. I lost so much fluid my edema is gone.

One leg was bigger than the other. No more! From day 3 of the cough, I began to find something to laugh at in the simplest things. Like, "No more edema." But the cough rumbles in my chest.

I am taking meds for mucus (Marty's), Lugol's iodine drops, vitamin C and Lysine.

And declaring, "With His Stripes I am healed"

I am really curious to know if anyone has run into this laughing, fluid draining cough.

I'm coming out Strong!

Oh dear, Hisjewel!

Have you tried the high dose melatonin? You can find Natrol brand even in small convenience stores like a Dollar General. Whether or not it’s covid you have, it is antiviral and anti inflammatory.

Do you think you have whooping cough? Or was that just an expression? If you have whooping cough you will need lots more vitamin c.

Wherever you are can you get some fresh onions and garlic and potatoes to make a soup?

Bless you, I hope you feel better soon.

Love,

~Mama to Many~

Thank you so much Mama to Many,

I kept my description short because I'm using my phone.

I believe it's whooping cough because of the sound. I do believe I'm coughing less now.

And yes just in case I was wrong the first 3 days I took Melatonin about 100mg a day. I had to stop because I got loose bowels. I also took Vitamin C and aspirin every 4 hours the first 3 days.

I stopped the melatonin and added the Lysine. I continued to leak water with every cough and laugh. As I mentioned before I lost the excess fluid, I also now have dry eyes which I did not have before.

About Day 4 and 6, I woke up soaking wet, I didn't think I had a fever but I must have had one.

Day 5, I started using the mucus cough syrup. Day 8 I started I iodine drops and I continue taking the vitamin C every few hours and also lysine.

I will try the potato and onions soup. And extra C.

Thank you very much.

Greetings EC,

I just want to mention one more interesting thing that happened with the lost of excess fluids. I have not awaken with any numbness or poor circulation. Neither have I suffered numbness from standing a length of time.

I was sure to pack all supplements I usually use for this problem. However, because of the seemly sudden cough attack sickness most of my usual supplements stayed in the suitcase. The one I took out was the Nattokinase, but that alone does not save my circulation.

I just thinking some of us may be experiencing numbness because of too much water retention.

Feeling much better.

This is interesting, I went to iron creek for a week of camping. The water came from a hand pump and my cold hands and feet were warm all the time. The water was full of iron. I wonder if your change in some part of your water or atmosphere changed your holding onto water? Something to think about.

Blessings, Charity

Greetings to all,

I am happy to say the awful, bad cough got less and less as the phlegm came up and out. Whether COVID or just a bad cold it lasted about 14 days in full.

The fluid has returned to my limbs, I can tell by looking at my legs, they are uneven once again. Oh, the night before last, I had my first numbness experience since my body has regained some fluid retention. That's not good, but the rest is.

My eyes have regained its moisture, no more dry eyes. I do not have to put castor oil on them at night anymore. Truly, this is a turn around. I put some iodine ON my nose the last two nights of the cold, because I felt like my nose was trying to get stuffy, I wonder if that somehow helped my eyes.

Now that I'm back home, I know I should be a good girl and go to the doctor and find out what it was that I went through, but it's gone so they probably can't figure it out either. Mama to Many that soup blessed me, and I shall continue with the Vitamin C. I shall also stick with the basic cold medicine that I mentioned earlier to make sure all is clear.

Thank You EC and all.
