Hi Everyone, glad to be part of the community and the wonderful remedies I am now aware of. I am thankful to the creators of this site and all contributors.

Now to my enquiry, I have read of the benefits of ACV for HBP sufferers and decided to give it a try. I was unable to get the one with the mother in it but simply went ahead with the store option. Problem is that my bp went up to 170/120 from 150/100 which was already high. I had to check my BP when I noticed migranelike heacache of which I still have a little left. I am simply wondering if there was anything I did wrong.

I tried as well to add Sodium Bicarbonate and Cayene pepper most times when I take the ACV also. At other times, I will simply take the extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice combo for the pain I had on my right lower flank abdomen. None of the scans prior to the Lemon Juice/ EVCO did not show any kidney stones. However, pain was gone after I took the lemon juice and EVCO. I stopped when the pain stopped. When pain tried to surface again, I did same thing again and pain was gone. I simply keep lemon fruits and EVCO handy in case pain tries to surface again. And of course, I take a lot of water everyday. This is in addition to my family's weekly routine of frshly squeezed juice (orange, watermelon, pineapple, lemon etc) drink. I also add Moringa to my meals also as much whenever I eat those food that it is easy to combine with. Is there something I did not do right?

I saw my physician today and immediately went back to the medication (Novasc 10mg) that I use whenever my blood pressure goes up. Had to do that in the interim while I await feedback from members of the community. I generally do not take the medication all the time but as is required and this is usually when my pressure goes up. I indeed will love to control my blood pressure naturally.

Secondly, I recommended the lemon juice / EVOO cumbo for my father in-law. 3 tablespoon Lemon juice and 3 tablespoon EVOO. He has HBP, diabetes and was diagnosed in August with prostrate cancer. He complians about painful urination sort of. I recommended the cayenne pepper / warm water combination. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper / 8 oz glass of water 3x daily. I recommended they add Sodium Bicarbonate to the family's drinking water in other to help with the general alkalizing of their bodies. I also recommended that he takes the lemon juice / EVCO the way I combine in my own case above. I would equally love to know if my recommendations are ok and what else we could do. Would have loved to try the Sodium Bicarbonate / Mollases or maple syrup combination but worried about the sugar part as a result of his diabetes. Let me know if there is another way we could handle the High BP, diabetes and prostrate cancer all at the same time. I will very must appreciate all responses that will help us overcome this trying time in our lives. I am a firm believer in natural therapy and will love a situation where we go off these medications and their side effects. Thanks all and cheers!

Using raw apple cider vinegar instead of the kind from the store is essential! Order online if you don't have a health food store nearby.

I respectfully disagree. Actually, I couldn't disagree more.

Years ago, when I read about using ACV for my high blood pressure, I had some 'regular old' ACV in my cupboard, so I used it and it worked well.

After reading many testimonials here on EC (similar to yours, stating that using organic ACV vs. non-organic was "essential"), I bought and used the organic variety and it 'essentially' did nothing. My blood pressure was back up, full throttle.

When I returned to the regular old ACV, my blood pressure went back down again, and I've stayed with it ever since.

I agree with the idea of using raw, unfiltered vinegar. Anyone who believes that they can get good results with filtered, and bad results with unfiltered is either a liar or a rare exception.

I started out using the typical store vinegar in the jug. It constipated me so bad that I had blood in the stool. And I believe it is because that vinegar "cleans" your intestinal walls to the point of making it VERY difficult to pass anything through. This even sounds dangerous to me.

But since I began using the good stuff, I haven't had this problem. Now I will admit something that might get me flamed by certain vinegar advocates.

I was normally using the new Heinz raw vinegar that Walmart began carrying. And with good results. But I had heard of Braggs many times. I later realized that the Amish store down the road carries the Braggs. So I bought a bottle of that just to keep on hand. I decided to begin using that. And it seems like only a couple days after that I began feeling weird. Turns out my blood pressure was up. Now is this a coincidence? I have no idea. But I at least know the Heinz stuff works. And it even prevented an allergy infection my 6 yr old was trying to get.

@Joe - I had the exact same experience.

Initially, I used regular old 'H' brand ACV with good results. After reading many posts here on EC, most of which scoffed at the notion of using H brand vs. B's (with the mother), I switched to the B's brand expecting greater efficacy.

It turned out that the opposite was true. When I switched to B's, my blood pressure shot back up. I returned to using the H brand and never looked back.

I think it is entirely possible that plain old ACV would work quicker, in some cases. Organic ACV is whole food and when the body gets a hold of it, it's going to use it where it needs it most and that's not always going to coincide with what a person THINKS is needed most.

I would say that if organic ACV doesn't work for you, take the regular, by all means, but ALSO work in some doses of the organic every once in a while so the body can use it as IT chooses.

Natural medicine is a conversation with the body. Certainly, it is important to address the concerns of the individual to give them peace of mind, but the body doesn't speak your language. You have to be aware of what it is and is NOT doing with what you give it. If organic ACV doesn't lower your blood pressure then that's a sign that the body has more critical uses for it. You can't ignore the mind of the individual - you must provide it with some relief - but you also can't ignore what the body tells you.

Organic ACV is MUCH more than merely ACV. It's a conscious living organism that is going to have a conscious and intimate conversation with your body - a conversation to which you will not be a party.

This is good news because anyone who fails to get the result they want from organic ACV can use regular ACV to get the peace of mind they need because that peace of mind will go a LONG way to helping them get better.

One possibility as to why organic doesn't always work might be anxiety. If one is anxious ABOUT the discovery that one has high blood pressure, it's entirely possible that wrangling the adrenaline produced by the anxiety is of a higher priority and that the organic ACV has something the body can use to deal with that.

At any rate, there is ZERO need to fight about it. Use what gives you peace of mind. If it works one way for some and the other way for others, so what? Use what works. Use what makes you feel better. Personally, I just took a dose of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and feel MUCh better.

For those interested in that, I use 1 tsp of ascorbic acid and 1/4 tsp of backing soda in a green Perrier bottle with the cap from an organic ACV bottle (because the Perrier cap was metal). I then fill it with filtered water, shake it up, drink about half, put the cap on and set it by the sink. From that point, I take a couple swallows periodically throughout the day. I hadn't been doing that lately, which is why I wasn't feeling good. That mixture comes out to about 5 grams of vitamin C. You could do the same with your ACV mixtures.

And no, I don't drink Perrier water as a rule, I bought it for the bottle. I needed a glass bottle, Perrier is yummy, so I bought myself a little 4-pack and voilĂ ! Some yummy water and four pretty glass bottles.

Whatever works for you is best! We are all different and affected by different things. So if that works for you.....that's what works! :-)

Sodium bicarbonate is the opposite of apple cider vinegar.
