Whenever I get a twinge of gout, or even have a full blown gout attack, I eat a couple of pounds of fresh cherries during a 48 hour period and drink copious amounts of water. Works every time.

I do the same thing and within 3-4 hours of eating a half pound of fresh cherries and drinking a couple of glasses of water the swelling goes down and the pain subsides... I can actually feel the swelling go down, its amazing... I have taken all of the drugs prescibed by doctors (NSAIDS) and it does nothing but give me a stomach ache and make me feel terrible (on top of the pain from the Gout attack).
