Women, I would suggest soaking a cotton ball down and using a bandaid that can peel off easily...maybe children's bandaids? Regardless, do it and let it work overnight while you sleep. ACV won't bother your skin at all. Hope this helps at least one person.

I just found out i have "it" a few days ago so this being my first outbreak i am a complete mess. I had a horribble day yesterday and wanted some comfort and i found this site. It is soooo painful and i was feeling like i cant deal with this anymore. after so many of u suggested acv i decided to try it. i cried when it was applied as it hurt soooo bad, but that only lasted for about 10mins. now the swelling is almost all the way down and it doesnt hurt like yest. today i took ur advice and soaked a cotton ball and sit in on there. it already feels better. i cant believe this works, its amazing. im so happy i found this site,i was going crazy, feeling alone as i dont want to bother my partner everytime i feel or see somthing new...is there a chat room on here?
EC: No chat room, sorry!

This is wrong: suggesting that women or anyone else for that matter, "use a cotton ball with ACV and tape it in place of the sore over night". depending on the type of skin, some skin types can handle the acid, other type of more sensitive skin may get damaged from acid burn. -- A lady stated in this forum that just by applying ACV a couple of times per day, her skin turned raw and she could hardly sit. Imagine if she had taped the acid to her skin over night.
