Somehow I managed to burn my finger really bad on a Pop Tart.. I went to take it out of the toaster and some of the strawberry gooeyness had came out of the middle and on to the part of the Pop Tart I grabbed (of course.. Had to be that part I grabbed, right?! Lol) It blistered instantly and the pain was soo severe I couldn't sit or anything.. I was just pacing and swearing.
I then grabbed a bowl and filled it with freezing cold water to put my finger in so that the pain would ease up (as the pain is caused by the air hitting the damaged nerves from one burning themselves).. I couldn't take my finger out of the water for more than a couple of seconds without the pain returning just as severely..
So I went to google some solutions for the pain and found this website. I first read about alcohol.. I didn't have any rubbing alcohol so I tried vodka and tequila. Neither one worked... I then tried aloe vera gel, which took away the pain as soon as I applied it for about 5 seconds if that..
Then I came across the tin foil.. And if you think about it, it is brilliant... Because gauze and stuff is porous it is pretty easy for air to get to your burn.. But tin foil isn't so it is very difficult for air to get passed it. I got the tin foil ready with my finger in a freezing cold damp cloth.. Then I quickly took the cloth away and put the tin foil over my finger and fastened it with an elastic band to try and prevent any air coming in from the bottom. And I must say the pain is basically gone and was as soon as I put it on.. It's been on for about 10 minutes now.. I still feel some minor pain, but nothing compared to what it was.. I would say the pain has decreased 97% so is only 3% of what it was.
It really works.. You'll be pleasantly surprised :)
