Soda Doping for Athletic Performance

Athletes take a mixture of 20 mg of baking soda in a glass of cold water before an event to give them an energy surge. This is called "soda doping". The combination of baking soda and acv forms carbon dioxide gas, resulting in a weakened solution of both substances.

Sooooo-is that a good thing or a bad thing? Do you feel we should or should not be combining these two substances?

I am 53 years old. I do some running. I tried the baking soda and it did work. I used half of a lime with one teaspoon of B.S. with about 12 ozs of water. I can run now for about 1hr 45 min. Tonight i am trying magnesium complex 2 caplets. Will tell you later on how it works. Moe

When you excercise, your body muscles produce that are responsible for making you feel tired and reducing their work rate. Baking soda removes these acids from the muscles, but you will def. feel the pain eventually.

Definitely will have some stiffness and aches but be mindful of your minerals, especially magnesium, and plenty of water to reduce these. Stay limber by foam rolling and stretching everyday too!
