Hi y'all. i just wanted to share my experiences with nasal polyp cures which were found from a variety of sources, over a number of years. like all of us sufferers here, i have tried EVERY SINGLE suggested method of curing this ailment ever known to man

- Visited 4 different doctors for 2nd opinions, saw 3 specialists. underwent 4 different cat scans/xrays etc. spent almost $1000 on total medical expenses.

- NASAL IRRIGATION with a variety of salts and herbal/medical infuses

- NASAL SPRAYS of the cortisteroid, over the counter and prescription manner(rhinocort, etc)

- ATOPICAL CREAMS - cortisteriods of many strengths, in prescriptions. applied onto inner nasal walls

- APPLYING/swabbing chemicals eg h202 in powder and liquid form, of different strengths

- ANTIBIOTICS - 3 types, for a few months each

- ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PILLS/TABLETS

- HAYFEVER/ALLERGY tablets x 10 types

- VITAMINS - C, B complex, A, garlic oil, horseradish, zinc, omega3, fish oil,

- DRINKING LITRES upon litres of clear water ever day until the point of feeling unwell

- HOMEOPATHIC remedies

- PRESSURE POINT/ACCUPUNCTURE REMEDIES

- EXTENSIVE HOME RENOVATION to replace all dust-mite sensitive areas, carpets to tiles/wood flooring, curtains replaced, bedding, EVERYTHING

- installing better heating/cooling systems

- IONIZERS to collect dust

- ETC ETC

BUT ALL TO NO AVAIL. well, they work initially, for perhaps a short period of time, but then relapse back to original, intoleratable state

but what i would like to share with you all, is my most recent attempt with WATER FASTING/VEGAN DIET

during my years of researching for a cure, the term 'fasting' did pop up alot, but i never paid attention to it, as it seemed difficult and too intensive to attempt and sustain as a part of my lifestyle

but after exhausting all other alternatives out there, i ultimately resorted to this method

yes it is incredible difficult to cut out all foods, and only consume VEGETABLES and FRUITS, and WATER (teas are allowed), and you do feel TIRED and lethargic, and dizzy most of the time during the intial phase, but after 1.5- 2 weeks, you begin to see GREAT RESULTS

I stopped my other remedies during this time period, and stuck to the FAST strictly

now it has been 3 weeks, and to my delight, the size of my POLYPS shrank immensely. the doctors were equally surprised at what a simple, non-evasive, safe, non-medical, natural, process of fasting could avail to. BREATHING is incredibly easier, EVERYTHING is looking up and up. it is very liberating!

on a side note, you LOSE WEIGHT in the process. which is always good.

So i urge you all to give this a shot. dont waste any more money in useless medicines and whatnot.

hope you all found this helpful! i was really excited about my discovery and really wanted you all to be made privy to the benefits of fasting! CHEERS! and bless you all!

Hi Laura,

Thanks for your post!
(I am a sinus sufferer also, with a polyp in the right nostril)

Your comments and suggestions, complete dietary changes, make sense! Every time I go on a fast, I feel significant relief in my sinuses (not to mention overall health). But no sooner I begin eating than I start to feel the congestion all over again. Other times when I eat light and restrict myself to wholesome and light diet (and avoiding diary, wheat, pasta, etc.) I feel OK too. Which leads me to believe there is a digestion and food assimilation (or lack thereof) component to sinus conditions. That is, the type and amount of food matter.

I think the trick might be in implementing the long term lifestyle changes - which most us may not have the courage to try. The obvious and discouraging part is that when we experience adverse results initially it is possible to scrap the whole idea.

Laura, in any case, I appreciate it if you could list some of the typical vegan diet you follow? How often do you water fast and when do you consume vegetables and fruits? I imagine one would intake water all the time. (A typical recipe would be nice to have.)

Thank you.
Zoe

Like many other posters here, i think it may be related to wheat/yeast/dairy allergies that you may not be aware of. eradicating certain allergy-inducing foods from our diets would definitely help the polyp shrink, but ive been tested as having only dust mite allergies, so im not entirely sure why i feel better when im only eating pure, natural foods. i hope someone can provide some better insight.

I am trying to deal with my monster extruding nasal polyps with anti-inflamatory compounds like turmeric, mega-vitamins, horseradish, Chinese herbs and green tea. So far not much luck. I am just glad to know that my problems are indeed polyps; after living in a moldy house 20 years ago my sinuses have been blocked ever since; now polyps protrude from my nose but at least I know what the deal is.

Acupuncture helped a bit, but they did not know about polyps as such, and the herbal pills they gave me have little effect; covered in red dye and sugar, I soak that stuff off before I take the pills.

A juice fast seems to be the next logical step in allowing the body to break down this excess tissue.

As a fellow nasal polyp sufferer, i really feel for all the people who post here. i wanted to add my 2 cents, and i really must to say, the most effective cure is the one that most people have been advocating. by no means is it easy, but the root cause of the condition is wheat and dairy. its been medically proven that NOT CONSUMING these products will give you instant and long-lived relief. but the problem is its generally impossible to avoid these types of foods, and so most people continue to suffer from polyps, not knowing the reasons why. following this logic, i've been consuming as little wheat and dairy as possible for the past 2 years, and drinking as much water as possible. whilst my polyps are not gone, they have shrunk drastically and continued to remain that way, and most days i dont even feel them in my nasal passage. so please take this into consideration, for your healths sake. good luck!

This time homeopthy didn't work for me. Everytime something different seems to work though my first aim is to control sinus. Did that with Sudafed non drying medicine. Then drank Job's tears powder mixed in hot water. One tablespoon per day. After 2 days polyp has shrunk considerably. Job's Tears is popular with Japanese and in Asian society. It's made with 'Chinese pearl barley'.

I see mention about diet. In Indian shops you will find Harad powder that taken after food prevents formation of sinus.

Has Job's tears continued to keep your polyps shrunken?

My 5 yr battle with nasal polyps also ended with the elimination of grain from my diet. I also eliminated seed oils & replaced them with animal fats. Adding 1000 mg of ascorbic acid to 8oz of hypertonic saline in the form of nasal irrigation seems to help.

Did that include oats also? I have read about grains such as barley, rye and wheat and the issues with gluten but oats are gluten free.
