5 out of 5 stars

After exhausting many attempts with various recommendations for rosacea cures, I finally went to a Traditional Chinese Medicine practioner after reading about other peoples successes. I was skeptical, but have found one doctor who really knew what he was doing. I have been taking the herbs for a month now. My symptoms are 90% gone. I did have a moderately severe case of rosacea. Now, I actually have pretty skin again. I had gone to another doctor at first, but his herbs were not as good. I think every doctor has his own formulas. These herbs really heal the problem of a "hot" stomach. Rosacea is only a symptom of this problem. Good Luck!

Can you provide more details about the herbs you are taking so that readers may be able to replicate your success?

I would like to just tell you the website that you could buy the herbs, although I don't know if you can buy them without being seen by the doctor. He has so many formulas that you really do need to be seen by him. I am being given three different formulas. One of them is specifically for the rosacea. The other two are for overall wellbeing for some of my other issues. The one for rosacea has these herbs : Forsythia fruit, Wooly Grass Rhizome, Agastache, Eupatorium, Mint, Round Cardamom Fruit and Chinese Hawthorn Fruit. It might be difficult to buy these herbs individually. Also, your pulse and some other personal details are studied in order to come up with the right herb combinationl. Since I cannot give you his name or website, I don't know what else to tell you. Just remember, the TCM doctors view rosacea as a symptom of a stomach issue. The face and stomach meridians are tied to each other. Healing the stomach will remove the rosacea symptoms. I don't believe this doctor ever mentioned to me that these are little mites living in my face. That was a good thing in my opinion!

Hi Neena, it's great to hear that you found something that worked very well for you. Being in Chicago myself, I would be very interested in hearing more information about the practitioner that you went to and how I could set up an appointment.

Thanks, Jordan

Hi all!

Just wanted let you know my experience with rosacea. I cured it with acupuncture and herbs. But before that I tried EVERYTHING. I happened quite suddenly last spring and I had no clue what I had. All I knew was that I was really hot on my face and it was horribly itchy.

I spent hundreds of dollars on supplements I researched online (oils creams vitamin deficiencies, you name it) the only thing that made it better were the papaya masks I'd put on my face(preferably cold papaya mashed or blended by itself All OVer) and I'd leave it on for an hour. It was my happy place...the rest of the days were horrible and I seriously wanted to die from the pain and I couldn't sleep without scratching.

I even researched fasting and switched to a raw food diet. I fasted for 18 days and came out with a juice diet for a week with wheatgrass and organic fruit. That actually helped, it totally went away. But when I started eating normal again it started to come back. So then I found an awesome acupuncturist here in Vegas. So after the first visit I immediately saw my face change color and kept my treatments while maintaining a vegetarian diet (with cooked foods).

My acupuncturist said that I had to stay away from yang foods which include spicy, chocolate, coffee, alcohol type of stuff. And the amount of time to get rid of it would be based on how long I originally had been having symptoms and how well I stuck to my regimen. This was all due to a Yin deficiency. So I kept taking the herbs and going to my sessions, which started out a couple times a week then went down to one visit a week and then monthly maintenance. Now I just take my herbs and rarely eat Yang foods. I had rosacea severely for four months and then the symptoms started to recede throughout the next 6 months. Acupuncture must maintain constant in order to see any results but that's the way natural healing works. I never went to a dermatologist and I refuse to take medication eventhough I was desperate.

I hope my story helps all of you, I know the pain and how horrible it feels. Keep your hope because I got rid of mine and you can too.

This is for Neena from Chicago.

I live in Chicago too and have been looking for an alternative way of curing my Rosacea. I'm tired of all the medications, both internal and topical, that I've taken and that have little or no affect on my condition. Could you possibly provide me with the name of the TCM practioner that you saw in Chicago? Or provide the name of the specific area where he/she is located?

This is an update to my post of 2/24/11.

After making many phone calls and verifying credentials of TCM practioners, I made an appointment.

First Practioner:
It's been three weeks since I started taking herbs for my Rosacea and the results were mediocre. I originally started with a TCM practioner located on the northside of Chicago, who gave me herbs combined with accupuncture. The first three weeks I did see some improvement (pustules were almost non-existent) but redness and papules remained. However, I did notice that when I received the second accupuncture treatment, the paplues were reduced in size, if not almost gone, and the redness still remained. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest recommendation), I would rate this TCM practioner a 5).

Second Practioner:
I decided to see another TCM practioner that was closer to where I lived. After this second TCM practioner reviewed my health profile, checked my pulse, checked my tongue for color, checked my palms and nails, and asked me about any other ailments I had, I was given several herbs to injest. Within the first week, the redness was diminishing, pustules were almost absent, and just a few minor papules. By the third week, the redness on the left side of my face was just a blush of red, pustules are gone and a few smaller bumps. Needless to say, the herbs are working.

While my Rosacea has not totally disappeared, I can finally go outside without trying to hide my face. I still use makeup to hide the residual effects of Rosacea, which makes my face look normal. I would strongly recommend that you see a TCM practioner, rather than trying to take herbs on your own.

I think it's important to understand that while the herbs are working, you won't see changes over night, especially if your Rosacea is sever like mine is/was. Here is the website link to TCM practioner in Chicago http://www.liferising.com, 2131 S. Archer Ave. Suite B, Chicago IL, 312-842-2775.

Good Luck!
