Hello Everyone,

I have been searching this site to find out a remedy for my dog's case of pink eye. I have seen some recommendations for putting ACV on the back of his neck but I am wondering how much I need to use and do I need to dilute it? He is a 62lb, chow/australian shepherd mix. Any other suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! This site is wonderful!

Tried your remedy on a 4 week old Kitten. It worked.. after a day he's feeling much better and no goopy booger eyes. He's still sneezing a bit but he's much better. And mommy cat doesn't seem to mind the pickle smell either.. I think she's just glad he's not miserable. We'll keep applying the vinegar (which we diluted 1 part water to 1 part vinegar) until the problem is gone. Will keep you posted. Thanks for the natural remedy :-)

To Rachel, I have 10 cats! All but one are rescues. Some months ago we took in a little boy kitty who like the one you are talking about was so skinny it broke my heart. We fed him and he never left !All my babies are spayed/neutered by the way. Any way he kept eating and I finally had to make him stop. If you can, get the kitty some kitten food and wet food for kittens. I just always leave the dry food out so they can eat it when they are ready. And then the wet food, give it to the kitty in the morning and then in the evening. It may take a while but it will gain weight. You may need to worm it too, when it is stronger. Hope this helps.

Hi again Rachel!

I have been where you are. About 1 and 1/2 years ago my brother brought me a TINY kitten that I guessed to be about 2 weeks old.I fed her kitten replacement formula til she was a little bigger and could give her moistened kitten food. For your little one, You can get her/him some kitten food and let some sit in hot water long enough to moisten it pretty well, really til it is soft if it is that young. It will need water also. You can give it small amounts of wet kitten food also, a little in the morning and a little in the evening. For the eye, try putting as warm a wet cloth as it will stand and you have to clean the eye every 30 minutes or so through out the day. Also, you can get antibiotic ointment( does not have to be named brand) and put it just under the eye. Just rub a little bit in the fur under the eye. Being careful not to get it in the eye. I had to do this with one of mine also. Do this about 3 times a day. It sounds hard, but it really is not once you get started. Let us know how it goes. Good luck and GOD BLESS!

Rachel, if the kitty won't drink water from a little bowl, then you will need to get a medicne dropper or something to get water into him/her. they are very easy to get to using a litter box.Your little one will need one of the tiny litter boxes. I rescued a little kitten from inside a tree just a couple of weeks ago and he/she? was only about 5 or 6 weeks old and once I showed it where his little litter box was, he started using it!
